Raven (Hell's Bastards MC 3) - Page 32

“Like shipments of girls?” Raven asked.

“Yeah.”

“So, if he makes a play for the top, he can turn around your decision on the girls,” Raven said.

“Yeah, and make a ton of money.”

“Do you traffic women and girls?” she asked.

“No. I put a fucking stop to it the moment I became Boss. I’m not a good man, Raven, but I do have my limits.”

Raven nodded. “Makes sense.”

He saw the smile on her lips.

“And that brings us back to Drago, who you’re only pissed at because he’s a different kind of potato.”

“I don’t know where you’ve gotten your analogy from, but I don’t get it.”

“Only because you’ve never had to deal with a potato.” Raven chuckled and damn it, he loved that sound. In fact, he just loved spending time with her. It was crazy.

“So, tell me about everyone else. I think I’m going to need all the facts to make sure I do things right.”

She was something else. He couldn’t ever let her go. Carlos wasn’t going to allow her to return to the Hell’s Bastards MC. The moment he could, he was going to have her.

Chapter Seven

Smokey didn’t call church until a couple of days later, when Carlos had warned they needed to return to the city, and pretty damn soon. Raven got the call from Smokey to attend church, which she did, in another linen pants suit. The moment she stepped foot into the clubhouse, in her boots and looking like someone out of a fashion magazine, the guys had been shocked. None of them said shit to her at first. It was like she had surprised them into silence.

Of course, it never lasted.

“Holy shit, Raven, is that you?” Big Dick asked.

She ignored him, taking a seat at the table.

“Raven, what’s going on?” Brick asked.

“Smokey’s going to bring us all up to speed.”

Kinky looked grim. Hunter didn’t seem happy, neither did Ugly Beast. Raven didn’t understand it.

Smokey entered church and made his way toward the top of the table. He took one look at her, and his eyes went wide.

“If you all want to insult me, get it over with,” Raven said. “I will mark it up here, and I’ll kick the crap out of each of you when I get back.”

“Where are you going?” Kinky asked.

“She’s going with Carlos to offer him some protection. I’ve been making all the necessary arrangements with him. While he was on our turf at the mall, there was an attack. Raven was there, and she protected him, but I don’t have to tell you all how bad this could have been if Carlos had ended up dead.”

“An all-out war,” Hunter said. “Between us and the Santiago mafia, as it’s called now.”

Smokey nodded. “Precisely. With the Twisted Bastards moving around, we know a new leader has been picked, but so far, no contact. So we’re playing it safe for now. I expect them to reach out soon. In the meantime, Raven’s going with Carlos. She is going to protect him. Help him find the traitor who wants him out.”

“Santiago business doesn’t involve us,” Brick said.

“Raven shouldn’t go.” This came from Kinky.

She was a little surprised. “Carlos helped us with Creed. He was on our turf when that shit happened. I think it’s only fair we show our cooperation and find this bastard.” She also liked the detective work she and Carlos had been doing the past couple of days.

It was lame, but they sat in the computer room, watching the monitors. She already disliked a guy named Tommaso Caputo. He seemed like a real bastard on camera. Carlos had put cameras in one of the restaurants, and he’d spilled dirty water on the clean floor, along with food, and yelled at a waitress to clean it back up.

Raven looked forward to being a bitch to him. As Carlos had said to her, by his side, as his woman, she would have certain liberties. Yes, she’d have to play the perfect host, and lady, but she could certainly piss a whole load of people off in the process. It sounded like a lot of fun to her.

“Again, it’s their business, and it’s not our problem,” Brick said.

“I don’t see a problem,” Elijah said. “Wish I was going with you. One of our own, playing them. It’s going to be fun.”

She smiled. “I know, right? It is going to be a lot of fun.”

“I’ve already made the arrangements with Carlos,” Smokey said. “Raven has agreed to go, and she will keep us updated.”

“When will you come back?” Brick asked.

“I’m not sure. When we find the guy responsible. Until then, you’re all given permission to miss me. Don’t let any of the club pussy into my room. Those clothes are mine.” Raven chuckled. The club pussy would be too scared to go in her room.

The guys smiled, but still, Brick, Kinky, Ugly Beast, and Hunter were not happy. She wondered what had them so pissed off. It wasn’t like she hadn’t been on missions before. The only difference with this one was that she had to play a role. She didn’t mind doing whatever was necessary for the club.
