Nothing Compares To You - Page 8

“Oh…thank you,” her sweet voice is like music to my ears, even like this.

She blows her nose in it rather loudly and my eyes widen. She giggles and meets my eyes, making me return the chuckle.

“I guess you won’t be wanting this back,” she holds the handkerchief up.

“Hmm, consider it a souvenir,” I smile.

But the truth is…I’d take anything with remnants of her on it, even that dirtied handkerchief. I don’t say this however, so I don’t make her feel like she’s now stuck in this room with a blazing stalker psycho.

She fidgets with the cloth for a moment as we sit in silence. I look around turning my wheels and trying to find any outlet for us.

She holds the fabric up in both hands and finds the stitch work on the corner of the cloth.

“A-S-S,” she reads slowly.

“My initials.”

“Your initials are A-S-S?” I can tell she’s holding in a burst of laughter and I’m happy to appease her actually.

“Yeah…I don’t think my parents thought that one through,” I quit looking around for a moment and take advantage of the opportunity to look her square in the face. She gorgeous with bright blue eyes, a short blonde bob and the cutest little nose.

Perfection.

“Go ahead you can laugh,” and she does.

We both break into laughter and it’s obvious it’s not just about the hanky. We’re both looking around at our situation and each other…strangers…stuck in this room, for God knows how long. It’s night time, we don’t have service, and we are likely stuck down here until morning.

Our rolling laughter slowly halts as our eyes meet and lock on each other. The room spins around us and for a second, I know she feels this too.

I lean in and our lips make contact. They’re soft and sweet and I slide my tongue between them as we continue to tangle softly. I don’t push it. This is no time for unbridled passion so I pull back, as the gentleman I am.

I have been wanting to taste those lips since senior year in high school.
