The 7 Day Stand - Page 28

I close my eyes and nod, “Yes,” I whisper and feel him smiling against my lips. “Just so you know, having inappropriate relations with clients is a big no no and if Suzan—my boss finds out that you and I are sleeping together she will have me out on my ass.” I inform him solemnly and his brows knit, his eyes narrowing as though he’s searching for words.

“Sweetheart, I don’t want you fretting over a thing. I’m going to take care of everything, okay?” Logan affirms austerely and cups my face with his large hands. The way his eyes are gazing piercingly into my own eases the sudden bout of nerves that surfaces. “And if she does find out and decides to let you go, I’ll hire you as my personal assistant.” He jests brushing his nose over mine.

I chuckle amusedly and shake my head, “If I were to work for you, I have a feeling I’ll be spending more time on my knees under your desk or on top of it than actually working at my own.” Logan grins and kisses the corner of my mouth.

“Mm, perhaps it wouldn’t be such a terrible thing if your boss did find out about us. I’m now picturing all the places in my office I would just love to fuck you on or up against.”

I laugh softly and draw back a touch to look up at him. “You, Logan Pierce, are a wicked, wicked man.” I purr sultrily and walk him back toward the door while he smiles charmingly, tightening his grip on my hips. “My legs have yet to recover from your devilry last night and this morning.”

“So, they should that was some of my best work.” He quips cheekily and buries his face into the crook of my neck. “Fuck, you make it so hard to leave you.”

I sigh lasciviously and tilt my head back when he nuzzles and kisses my throat, “Then don’t.” I moan quietly circling my arms around his neck, my fingers splaying at his nape. “Stay and let’s go back to bed.” Logan groans and caresses my ass.

“That’s very tempting Wildfire, but we both have work and I have that stupid thing I need to attend tonight.” I pout, and he smiles, brushing a kiss to my lips. “Don’t look at me like that sweetheart. I’d much rather spend the night with you, believe me.” He admits, combing his fingers through my hair and pressing his forehead to mine. I notice the troubled look written all over his handsome face so I don’t press further. Though I do wonder what it is he is doing tonight that’s got his feathers all ruffled. “Get some rest tonight and recuperate, because you’re going to need it the next time that I see you.”

I smile and bite my lip, “I look forward to it.”

Logan kisses me into a stupor once more before he pulls away and we walk to the door. “I’ll see you Wildfire.”

“Better make it soon, Mr. Pierce.” I reply with an impish smile and lean my shoulder against the door after I open it to watch that absurdly fine man walking back to his car.

While I observe Logan getting into his car, I couldn’t help silence the voice in my head telling me that I’m biting off more than I could chew by agreeing to go away with him. I can already feel myself getting a little too emotionally invested in this ‘fling’. I just hope I don’t wind up in a worse position than I was when we met—heartbroken and worthless because Logan Pierce has the potential to break me in ways I’m certain I’ll never fully recover from.
