Unbroken 2 - Page 105

As if making it up to me, a month later Leo threw a fair at a major park along the shore. It was a stone’s throw from the marina the Itanis owned. The park itself was old and in need of serious renovations.

There were eating contests, rides, food and music from a local band. All money raised would go to the park and improving its infrastructure. I thought it was too short notice, but the town loved the Itanis, and not just that, but a lot of wealthy families came out. A majority of them had come sailing in, putting down their anchors in the water or taking a slip into the packed marina. Their donations were explosive.

Leo had set aside a dress for me to wear. A yellow sundress that hugged my growing curves. I’d come back from the club gaining a good ten pounds more than before, but Leo loved the weight gain, said it made me look curvy and beautiful.

“You didn’t have to get this,” I said, staring at myself in front of the full-length mirror in his bedroom.

Leo was dressed in a white polo shirt and grey dress shorts. His biceps stretched at the sleeves, and I had to stifle a laugh because he was like the Hulk come to life. He was fitting a giant watch on when he came up behind me, smiling at my reflection. “I love your legs.”

“So, you bought it to see my legs?”

He smirked. “That’s one reason.”

“What’s the other?”

“It’s the most beautiful shade of yellow.” He paused, licking his lip as he looked me over. “You look like a dandelion come to life.”

My heart beat hard as I spun around to look up at him. “Well, thank you. I was going to wear a shirt and leggings—”

“Hunter’s band shirt and your tight leggings would have been fine any other day,” he cut in, amused. His arm wrapped around my waist, and he tugged me closer. Dropping his head down, he kissed me tenderly. Pulling away, he opened his eyes to look into mine. “Today I want you looking like you’remine.”

I smiled brightly. “You promise to eat everything I eat?”

“Any and everything.”

“Cotton candy and hot dogs?”

“Especially cotton candy and hot dogs.”

“Will you go on a few rides with me?”

“As long as no one can look up your skirt.”

“And you’ll dance?”

He smiled devilishly. “Sweetness, you know I have the moves.”

I gripped my dress tightly, hardly able to hold back my excitement. “I can’t wait.”
