Dirty Desires: Interracial Russian Mafia Romance - Page 71

“With me, you will always be protected, even from her.”

“Shit.”

“What?”

Maxwell scanned the room as if considering all of my men in there. “Let’s go to my bedroom.”

“Your bedroom?” I gave him a wicked smile. “And you haven’t even taken me out to dinner yet?”

“What?”

“Never mind.” I chuckled. “Let’s go. I have always wanted to be with a black man.”

Maxwell let out a long breath. “This is serious and you’re making jokes.”

“Whatever it is, it cannot be too bad.”

“Like you always say, we’ll see.”

We got to his bedroom in minutes.

I was surprised to see clothes all over the floor. It appeared my homey was quite a messy one. Shoes were scattered here and there. Clothes strewn all over the floor. Shattered vases covered several corners.

And then I remembered that Valentina had been in there arguing with him.

I shook my head at the mess. “What a pretty little demon?”

“Yeah. She fucked up my room. I’m going to give housekeeping a major tip.”

“And I will have to pay the hotel for the vases. No doubt they were more expensive than the room.” I looked at him. “But that is not why we are here.”

Maxwell shut the door and gestured for me to come closer.

“Okay. This is top secret.” I smirked.

“Don’t tell anyone.”

I drew an invisible holy cross in front of me. “Never.”

“I’m serious. If you do, I’ll say I didn’t tell you.”

“Fine. Valentina thinks I am monitoring her anyway.”

“Are you?”

“Of course.”

Maxwell ran his fingers through his short hair. “So, the baby could either be yours or Kazimir’s, because—”

“What?!” Horror encased my every cell. I waved my hands. “No. I do not want to know this secret anymore. You could get shot for saying that.”

“That’s what I’m trying to tell you, man.”

It was hard to say the words without throwing up. “Did I hear you correctly? Kazimir is sleeping with Valentina—?”

“No. No.” Maxwell paced in front of me. “No incest or anything like that.”

“Then, you should have said that first!”

“Misha, man.” Maxwell didn’t stop pacing. “Okay. Olesya was mad at Valentina, so she fucked Kazimir, but still couldn’t get Valentina back. And she knew Valentina wanted to eventually have children. So according to Valentina, Olesya took Kazimir’s sperm—”

“That is true about the sperm. I remember Kazimir’s men found small containers of his sperm in her freezer. He ended it because of that.” My heart beats relaxed. “Okay. This is making more sense, then Kazimir and Valentina. . .no I cannot even say it.”

I still felt like throwing up, but I calmed my body down.

“So.” Maxwell paused from pacing. “Olesya comes to Valentina’s place. Sleeps with her. And somehow. . .according to Olesya, she put Kazimir’s sperm in Valentina’s vagina.”

I widened my eyes. “This is making sense.”

“I’m glad that shit makes sense to you.”

“I never knew why Valentina would kill Olesya.”

“Well, apparently putting Kazimir’s sperm into her vagina, is Valentina’s hard line.”

“But.” Confusion tornadoed through me. “But how did Olesya tell Valentina?”

“Olesya sent Valentina that children’s book and a note about what she did.”

“Now it makes sense why Valentina rammed the children’s book up her ass.”

Maxwell snorted. “Hey, if you say so.”

I thought everything over in my head, but Maxwell had more to say.

“So, that night after getting the gift from Olesya, she went to you, got you drunk, and slept with you.”

I bobbed my head. “Just in case.”

“I guess.”

“But she does not have any idea if Natalya is my child or Kazimir’s?”

“She’s too scared to find out.”

“Okay.” I placed my hands into my pocket. “Now if I am the father, I will not cause her any emotional pain. She was in a logical dilemma.”

“Again, if you say so.” Maxwell walked over to his bed and sat down. “But you see what I mean about not looking further into the paternity test, if her daughter isn’t yours?”

A bad taste coated my tongue. “I see. If I am not Natalya’s father, then this will be a secret that I will take to the grave.”

“You’ll have to because I don’t know what Kazimir would do, if he heard.”

“He would definitely kill the messenger and anyone within a five mile radius.”

“Then, he won’t hear that shit from me.”

“Or me.”

Maxwell glanced at the door. “You’re going to let me know what the results are?”

“Of course. We’re not only homeys, but apparently, we’re keepers of a very dangerous secret. While I could handle Valentina and Kazimir individually, I would never want to be in the middle of both of their anger.”

“Me either.”

I did my best to swallow down my disgust for Olesya and her actions. “Get dressed, Maxwell. We should eat, shop—”

“Shop?”

“My girlfriend needs shoes for her performance.”

Maxwell grinned. “Oh shit. You both made it official?”

“We did, but don’t worry, Maxwell. You are still number one in my heart.” I headed out.

Laughing, he called back, “If you say so, man.”

Maxwell’s revelation cleared up the mystery of Olesya’s murder but provided an overwhelming discomfort. That secret would be a huge burden on my shoulders. But only if I discovered that Natalya was not mine.
