My Perfect Enemy - Page 47

“Sorry, what were you saying?”

I opened my eyes and glared even though I was sure the glassiness of my gaze dulled the menace. “Shut up and move,” I ordered, reached down to grab hold of his ass so I could pull him closer, deeper. “God, you feel so good.”

He pulled out of me and slid back in, over and over, his rhythm and strength increasing with every inward glide. “Jesus, you’re fucking beautiful like this.” He lifted one hand from where it was braced on the mattress and brushed back a lock of hair that had fallen across my forehead. “Your skin glows like moonbeams in this light.”

A sound akin to a sob broke in my throat. The coil inside me tightening, his sweet words as he looked down at me while moving inside me. My chest suddenly felt tight. Everything felt tight.

“Nate,” I said on a breath.

“You’re beautiful, Luna. You feel beautiful.”

I broke at his tenderness. My eyes rolled back, my neck arched, and every muscle in my body strained as the release washed through me, over me, threatening to pull me under.

“That’s it. Christ, just like that,” Nate coaxed, picking up his pace. “If you saw what I see. Most stunning thing I’ve ever laid eyes on when you come, baby. Let me have another.”

I wasn’t sure if it was another one, or if the last one just went of forever, but by the time it left me, I felt boneless. I had just enough wherewithal to focus on Nate as he buried himself deep and grunted out his own release. I could feel every twitch, every jerk of him inside me as he emptied himself. When he finished, he collapsed, burying his face in my neck.

“I’ll stop crushing you in a minute,” he said, his voice muffled against my skin and hair. “I need to catch my breath.”

I giggled as much as I could with his weight pressing down on me. “Stay as long as you want,” I assured him, locking my ankles and wrists around him loosely. “You’ll get no complaints from me.”

He nuzzled against my neck. “God, what’s that perfume? I can’t get enough of your smell.”

“I don’t wear perfume. It’s my shampoo and conditioner. Amber Dreams or something like that.”

He inhaled deeply one more time before finally rolling off me and onto his back, hooking his arm around my waist and pulling me with him so I was snuggled into his side.

He filled his lungs before letting it out with a huff. “We have a serious problem, moonbeam.”

The endearment washed through me, but I pushed the gooey warmth of it away, telling myself I’d deal with it at another time. I lifted my head and cocked my brows. “Already? That was fast.”

“You know that thing about this being a one-time deal and working it out of our systems?”

My heart rate kicked up and my stomach plummeted at the reminder. “Vaguely. Why?”

He shook his head with mock weariness, taking on a dramatically serious tone. “It didn’t work.”

“Oh my,” I said softly, holding back my laughter. “That is serious.”

“It really is. I’m going to need you at least... ten more times.”

I bugged my eyes out. “Ten?”

His arm around me clenched tighter. “At least.”

I pretended to think long and hard on that. “Well... ten is a nice, round number.”

His lips creeped up in a smile that overtook his whole face and made me shiver. “I was thinking the exact same thing.”

“Well then we’re agreed,” I said on a yawn, feeling the kind of bone-deep exhaustion that could only come with having had world-class sex. “That’s a first for us. Usually we disagree on pretty much everything simply out of spite.”

He stretched his free arm up and brought it around and under his head, making himself more comfortable in my bed. “I like this getting along thing. Especially when it leads to such a nice outcome. Although, I kind of liked some of the aspects that came with being enemies too.” He waggled his eyebrows. “Sometimes it felt like foreplay.”

I let out a snort and rolled my eyes, the moonlight bright enough so he could see it. “I’m glad one of us did, because I found it annoying as hell.”

He gave me a playful shake, the motion making my nipples scrape lightly over the thin bit of hair on his chest. And just like that, my arousal shot through the roof. “Come on, admit it. You like being my enemy from time to time.”

This time I actually did give that some thought instead of just pretending. “Okay,” I relented grudgingly. “Maybe a little. But that is not carte blanche to act like an asshole.”

My body shook with his as he laughed lightly. “Yes ma’am. Now get some sleep. I need you well rested. By my count, I got you off three times that last go-round, so I’ve got my work cut out for me.”
