“I better head back to the office. I’m sorry for wasting your time,” I tell her as I hold out my hand to lift her off the floor. She takes it and pulls herself up, straightening herself out as I do the same.
“Just so you know, Mr. King, Elle isn’t working this weekend, but she’s back next Tuesday, I think.”
I pause at Vixen’s comment.
“Elle’s a good girl. I wouldn’t be telling you if it was anyone else,” she whispers while biting her lip, worried she might be overstepping her mark.
“Then why are you?” I ask.
“You two looked like you had fun together the other day. I was surprised to see you here today on her day off,” Vixen adds.
“I don’t know her schedule.”
“You know you can request certain people. You can make bookings for them via the secure app,” she adds.
I had no idea.
“Ask the girls at the front desk to help set you up on your way out,” Vixen tells me.
“Why?” I ask.
“Can I speak candidly? I can trust you, can’t I, Mr. King?” Vixen asks as her dark eyes narrow on me with a warning to which I nod in agreement. “Elle is a gorgeous soul. I’ve known her for a long time. She has dreams, goals, and aspirations that are much bigger than this place. I’m hoping maybe one day she can achieve them.”
And with that, Vixen walks out of the room, leaving me incredibly confused.
