ELOISE

“Hey, Elle, you’re needed up in room fifty-seven for Mr. King. He’s a new member, first night, and is very good friends with Mr. Lewis,” Sara informs me. Sara is the client resources manager, making sure all The Paradise Club clients’ requests are met. She then hands me a tablet that contains all the details about Mr. King.

“Lucky bitch. I love getting the new members, and he’s hot too,” Lauren, my best friend, says over my shoulder while staring at my tablet. I glance down at the color photograph of Mr. King and take him in. He is gorgeous, Lauren isn’t wrong there, with his sandy-colored hair that isn’t cut or styled to perfection, unlike the many other suits that come in. It’s a little longer and shaggier than the norm. He has a light stubble growing as if he didn’t have enough time to be clean-cut, and I like it. He’s tall as per his profile—six feet two—and he looks like he works out. He is trim and taut with well-defined muscles, but he’s not a gym junkie. He has a nice sense of style in his profile pictures, likes to travel, obviously—there are some images with him in nothing but boardshorts looking like he’s in Ibiza or somewhere equally as exotic with his six-pack abs on display. He has a tanned body as if he spends his days in the sun. One picture shows him with his arm slung around some male friends who are all equally as gorgeous as him. Now that I think about it, I’ve seen a couple of them in the club, but I’ve never had the pleasure of being with them.

I wonder why he’s become a member now when I know the rest of the guys have been members since I’ve worked here, which has been the last couple of years. Maybe he is single again? Then again—as if being in a relationship stops some of the clients we get in here.

“You’re drooling, Elle. Pick up your jaw,” Lauren teases me.

Not all guests are as gorgeous as Mr. King, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have fun with the ones I may not be attracted to. You’re not going to be sexually attracted to every person, but to be fair, the caliber of hot people who are part of this club sits high.

The Paradise Club vets its members, so the club is filled with the best people who are part of the one percent. They come here because it’s safe, and they know that what happens in the club isn’t going to be sold to the tabloids. There are, of course, some dickheads who slip through the cracks, but they are few and far between, and I’ve never once felt unsafe working here.

Not all the guests are here to live out weird and wild fetishes, there are some guests who don’t even want sex. Sometimes they want me to sit and watch them with their partner, or they want me to teach them certain aspects of sex play. Then there are others who want to explore with another but don’t want any entanglements after, so playing at the club is safer for them.

“Lauren, Eloise. Ruby would like to see you before your sessions quickly,” Sara adds.

We both look at each other, and my heart begins beating quickly over the thought that our boss wants to speak to Lauren and me.

“Are we in trouble?” I turn and ask my friend.

“Hell no, you and I are the best. Probably a raise,” she says while wiggling her brows at me.

Maybe she’s right. I do love my job. I know it’s not a job for everyone, but it suits me fine, plus the money is outstanding.

I don’t consider myself a prostitute. I like sex. No,I love sex. And just because a guest requests me doesn’t mean they automatically get sex. I have a choice whether to continue depending on the vibe between the guest and me. There hasn’t been a case yet where I have turned someone down. I have, however, declined certain requests during a session and have found someone else to fulfill those particular needs. That’s why I love working here—the company and the guests are so respectful.

Some days like any other job, you may not feel like having sex, and that’s okay too. You let Sara know, and she places the black band on your wrist, and you will usually head on out to the bar or be a voyeur in certain situations. Everyone who comes to The Paradise Club respects the colored bands. You can’t run a successful sex empire if people don’t respect the rules.

This wasn’t at all how I saw my life turning out—being someone’s walking, talking sexual fantasy was not on my career list. I’ve always been sexually adventurous, but I grew up in an ultra-conservative home where I needed to dress and act a certain way in front of my family.

The old saying ‘Kids should be seen and not heard’ was me growing up, and as an only child, it was pushed upon me even more. As soon as I could, I rebelled against the constraints of my parents, especially at boarding school, where I was afforded much more freedom than if I were at home.

As soon as I graduated from high school, I moved out of my family home and in with Lauren, who I met at boarding school, and then fell into the modeling world. Lauren’s family owned the agency, so I was in good hands, but I had to wait until my eighteenth birthday to sign with them as my parents forbade me from doing it.

It wasn’t a respectable career!

But marrying some blue blood was.

When they found out I had signed with the agency, they cut me off, which was fine by me because I was making my own money, even if it was next to nothing. Let’s be serious, I was no supermodel.

Lauren and I then spent the next five years traveling the world, living hand to mouth, working, wandering, and partying. Lauren has always been a free spirit and utterly unconventional which is why I love her. She started organizing these traveling sex parties for wealthy young people where she would hire luxury homes and basically get everyone drunk to have an orgy. Lauren knew all the right people and had access to hot, rich people. I knew what she was doing, but at the time, it wasn’t for me. I wasn’t really an orgy-loving kind of girl.

As the summers went on, the more my inhibitions started to disappear until Iwasthat kind of girl—the kind who didn’t mind fucking in public and didn’t care if she was kissing a man or woman or whoever if she was feeling good. It was liberating. Never in my life have I ever felt as desired or as confident in myself as I did during those summers.

As the years went on, someone approached Lauren and me during one of her parties and asked if we would be interested in working full-time in something like we were doing already but instead of doing it for free, we would be paid. They explained how The Paradise Club worked and how much money we could be earning from doing essentially what we were giving away for free. They discussed the concept, that it was discreet, and no one would know who we were, and if they did, they would never say anything because they would risk their membership.

The last couple of years of partying and having fun with Lauren has been great and what I needed after having my life so heavily controlled, but I needed to work out what I wanted to do with all this freedom. I hadn’t continued onto university to spite my parents. I didn’t think partying, traveling, and having sex was an actual career either. I knew I needed to save for my future seeing as I had been cut off from my trust fund. I had dreams for a different life for myself.

The offer to work at The Paradise Club happened at the right time. Lauren and I agreed to work there for a short time to see if we could earn the kind of money they were saying we could. They told us we could quit at any time if we changed our minds. We took the opportunity, and here we are two years later. I think one more year here, and I will be at the goal amount for what I need to chase my dreams.

Lauren knocks on Ruby’s office door.

Ruby calls out, “Come. Take a seat, ladies.” She points to the two chairs in front of her desk. Nervously, I take a seat and try to calm my pounding heart.

Goddammit! This is it! I’m about to be fired.
