Forever Mine - Page 70

CAL

Iarrive at the theatre early for Liv’s show and after finding my seat, I call Mum. She’s been struggling lately.

“Hello, love.” She sounds cheerful this morning.

“How you doing, Mum? Feeling better?”

“A little. I have good days and bad days. I’m seeing the doctor next week. Hopefully, he can change my tablets. I’ve been ever so forgetful lately. Your sister, Cheryl thinks it’s the pills they gave me for my heart.”

“Yeah, I’ve heard those pills can have that effect. Are you still tired all the time?” I wish I was over there, but my sister has been visiting more.

“Don’t worry about me, love. I’ll be all right. How are the girls?”

“Everybody’s all right, I’m just at the theatre, waiting for the show to start.” More people enter the auditorium, filling it with a din of chatter and rustling.

“Oh, I won’t keep you, then. You enjoy the show and give her my love.”

“Will do. Love you, Mum.”

“Oh, Callum, before I go, I almost forgot to tell you. I saw Stephanie the other day.”

Her name wraps around my heart as if squeezing the life from me. “Is she all right?” My voice croaks. I hold my breath, feeling the pulse in my neck.

“Yes, love. Shall I pass on your new number if I see her again?”

I sigh heavily into the handset. “She’s the reason I got rid of my old one.” I run a hand through my hair. I can’t go there again. Things were just getting easier. As much as I’d love to talk to her, what’s the point? She’s married, I’m here. We’re worlds apart.

“Say no more.” Mum chimes. “I’ll talk to you tomorrow, love.”

“Bye, Mum.” I cancel the call and relax back in my seat.

The theatre fills, and a dark-haired woman catches my eye. She steps sideways down the row of seats, her low cut top reveals her bouncy tits. Her bright smile makes me sit up straight, or is it her chest?

“Hi.” She pulls the seat down next to me and parks her perfectly round bottom covered in tight denim.

I clear my throat and shift in the seat to give her some arm room. “Hey.”

“I think our daughters are in the same class. I’ve seen you around the dance school.”

“Are they?” I’ve never seen this woman before. I’m sure I’d remember her.You haven’t exactly had your head in the game.

Her long dark hair falls over the curve of her breast and a loose strand rests in the deep valley between her tits. I pull my eyes away. For fuck’s sake, I shouldn’t be looking down her top, but my eyes can’t stop following the loose strand of hair that’s lost down there.

Fuck, it’s been too long since I buried my face between a pair of knockers. She does have nice tits, though. The lad twitches, and I have to adjust my jeans.

“I’m Danni.” She holds a box of popcorn out to me. “Popcorn?”

“Cheers. I’m Cal.” I take a handful; anything to distract me from her chest.

“Your girl’s the British one, correct?”

“Girls? Oh yeah, Olivia. What are your girls called?” My eyes wander downwards again. They’re just so big.

“My daughter’s Harper.”

I snap my head up and nod while chewing on the salty popcorn.Just focus on her eyes. Focus on her eyes.

“They’re friends. I’ve been meaning to catch her mother to arrange a get-together.”
