Forever Mine - Page 15

STEPH

His hands grip my arms, holding me in place. “Steph, I miss you. I love you. Please don’t hate me. I can’t bear you hating me for another twenty years.”

Pain stabs me in the chest. “I don’t hate you, Cal. Well, I do, but I still care about you.”

He smiles as his hand goes to my cheek. “There’s hope then.”

I press my face against his palm, feeling the warmth from his hand. “There’s no hope for us. I just wanted to make sure you were all right.”

“The fact you’re here tells me there’s a glimmer of hope that you’ll forgive me. I don’t want to leave things like this between us. It’s killing me. Tell me, Steph, tell me you’ll try to forgive me.” With his hand firmly on my neck, his thumb strokes my cheek with the gentlest, most delicate touch.

My heart already forgave him. It’s my mind that’s telling me not to, restraining me with every brain cell while my heart is pulling me closer with that invisible bungee cord that always bounces back into his arms.

I nod, lifting my face to gaze into his beautiful brown eyes that seem darker today, full of sorrow with a flicker of red; a hint of burning passion, love, and pain. It would be so easy to melt into his lips only inches away and let all my problems dissolve for a moment while I feel his love on me once more. I know he loves me in his own way. He just makes stupid choices that always result in hurting me one way or another.

I clear my throat as I resist the urge to kiss his lips. “You marked up my book?”

“Yeah, just some of my favourite parts I like to read. Did you read my letter? I’m guessing that’s why you’re here.” Both hands caress my neck, his fingers tangle in my hair, and his thumbs stroke my skin.

“Yes, I read everything. Thank you.” I look away, fighting the pull into his eyes.

He lifts my chin. “I meant every word. Nothing’s changed for me, Steph. I still want you.”

“Cal, please, not this again.” But hearing him say those words sends a flicker in the pit of my stomach and I inch closer to him, resting my hands on his taut chest, feeling his heart beating as fast as mine. I bring my lips to his mouth ever so slightly, hoping he’ll take the bait and kiss me voraciously as he would do before.

His warm breath with a hint of mint falls on my face, but he doesn’t come closer. “Why are you here if nothing’s changed for you?”

“I told you, I wanted to check you were all right.”

His hands move to my shoulders, then grip the top of my arms, digging his fingers into my flesh. “Well, I’m not all right. I can’t stop thinking about you and what our life could be like. I want you.”

"Then kiss me," I beg.

He pulls me to his lips as they collide with mine, feverishly lapping his tongue around my mouth. I heat instantly as a light burns through my body, deep into my soul.

"Is this what you want?”

“Yes,” I say.

Cal grips my arms tight as if he’s never going to let me go. The water from his hair runs onto my forehead as his stiffened tongue darts into my mouth once more. Rough hands wander under the silky lining of my skirt and squeeze the top of my fleshy thighs. His ravenous lips suck along my neck before his teeth nip at my ear.

“Steph, baby, let me show you how sorry I am.” His fingers dig into my outer thigh, and I want them between my legs.

“Show me, Cal.” Leaning against the kitchen counter, I succumb to his will as he runs his tongue down my chest, popping open each button to my blouse as he goes. Roaming over my black skirt bunched around my waist, he reaches my full black satin knickers, and presses his lips against the fabric.

His hot breath seeps through, sending a wave of unquenchable lust through my centre. “Baby, I’ve missed you.” He tugs at my knickers and pulls them down my thighs, then squeezing my cheeks, he buries his tongue between my folds and finds my bundle of nerves.

Tugging on his saturated hair, I rock my hips shamelessly into his lapping tongue. I wasn’t exactly sure why I felt the urge to come here again—but now I know—this is what I came for, to feel his wicked tongue on me once more, those lips and his hungry mouth that never fails to bring out the sinner in me. I tug harder and moan as his stiff tongue licks in rhythm with my hips and everything tightens. The tenacious pressure builds, and I need to orgasm. I need it like I need to breathe.

Cal groans into me as he always does and the vibration from his mouth wrapped tightly around my swollen bud has my pleasure turned up another notch.

“Cal, I want you inside me.” I beg. “I need to feel you, all of you, inside me, please.”

“Not yet, baby. Not until I’ve shown you how sorry I am.” He’s on his knees, teasing, sucking, licking and nipping. The ache in me is desperate for something to fill the void, anything, him, his fingers. I need to come. I can’t take much more of this. His tongue enters me, circling, pushing just inside my entrance, soft but firm strokes as his nose rubs against my sensitive spot, still fisting his hair I hold his head in place as I rock against him rubbing my slickness against his tongue and his nose, moaning and calling his name.

“That’s it, baby, come for me.” And I come like a bolt of lightning ripping through me just as the thunder rips through the heavens. My body trembles violently as the surge forks out into every limb, making them weak and pliable. I slide to the floor on my knees to meet Cal and wrap my arms around his shoulders. He holds me on his kitchen floor as I take a minute to come back to earth.

The downpour beats heavily on the kitchen window as I become aware of my surroundings again.
