Made in Vengeance - Page 112

She pushed him away and walked over to Gabriel. Nikolay followed close behind, but even he wasn’t quick enough to stop Gabriel when he wrapped his arms around Catalina and pulled her in for a long hug, his eyes directed at the other man with what could only be mirth in them.

I shook my head. “One of these days, you’re going to push Nikolay too far, and I won’t stop him if he tries something.”

Gabriel laughed, unconcerned. “Nah, Catalina likes me too much. Would you risk upsetting your little princess over someone like me?”

“Catalina will get over her anger, eventually. You can’t come back from the dead,” Nikolay said, sounding almost gleeful.

“I have once,” Gabriel responded lightly, and I knew he was referring to being left in the desert by Luis and his insurgent group.

“Enough,” I said, walking over to them. “Let her go.”

He grinned at me, but lucky for him, he let Catalina go. I pulled her into my arms, keeping her close to me. All my demons seemed to shut up with her around. I found the feeling to be highly addictive.

“Thanks for letting us stay here. And thanks for helping us … with everything,” I said seriously.

He nodded. “Of course.”

I clasped his shoulder, squeezing a bit before I grabbed Catalina’s hand and led her out of there, Mikhail and Nikolay following.

We were finally able to go home.

And once we got there, we were going to coordinate with Gabriel’s men and start blowing up Agnello’s operations.

We were going to weaken him and ruin as much of his business as we could.

War was starting, and I would not stop until I had Agnello’s head.
