Rejection (The Mate Games 2) - Page 75

I smirked. “Oh, there’s all sorts of fun sounds I can make with your dick in my mouth, Father.”

A low groan was his only response.

I tilted my chin up and locked eyes with him in challenge. “Go on, you know you want to let me stay back and play.”

“What I want is irrelevant. This is important. You need to know how to fight these creatures.”

“I already fought one.”

“And by the way I hear it, you would’ve died if Alek hadn’t been there to send the beast back to hell.”

I huffed in annoyance. “I was the first one to draw blood. Alek wouldn’t have even known where to hurt him if it wasn’t for me.”

Probably.

Tenderness flickered in his gaze. “My fierce little hunter. You have no idea what you are, do you?”

“I guess not. Tell me, Caleb. What am I?”

“Everything,” he whispered so softly I wasn’t sure he meant for me to hear it. Then he leaned down and closed the distance between our mouths. The kiss was intense, searing, and over far too soon. Lips still on mine, he breathed one word that sent chills down my spine. “Mine.”

He shoved himself off the wall, pushing away from me. “Now go,” he ordered. “We can continue this conversation during your session.”

I lifted my hand to my lips, which still tingled from his kiss. I slowly started moving, my gaze trained on him as I did.

His palm cracked down on my ass. “Now,a stor.”

“Yes, sir,” I said with a saucy wink.

Then, with a final glance over my shoulder, I strode through the doorway and found myself in the middle of a city I recognized.

“Of course we’d be in LA. What could be more appropriate for a priest to choose than the City of Angels?”
