Shattering Desire - Page 17

And so did Hunter. They both had a lot to be thankful for. Because of David. Not that he did it alone. She and David built and broadened his career.

Reclining on the floor and stretching her legs out in front of her, she supported her upper body with her arms behind her. She gazed at all the wonderful memories captured in the photos in front of her. She once displayed hers, but a great many were now absent. During the separation and divorce, she packed away anything with potential to make her cry. The photos of her mother went first. She missed her mom every second of every hour. As if hiding her image would erase her from memory. It seemed appropriate to remove pictures of family vacations too.

She would enjoy a glass of wine. That appealed to her while she waited on Gavin. Sitting around and compounding regrets and consuming herself in self-doubt did not appeal to her. Though he had a small kitchen, she liked it. She wondered if he had a cleaning service. His granite sparkled. Finding a wine glass, she went to open the fridge and noticed the personal notes hanging with photos from magnets. Obviously, they were from his mom and sisters.

One note attached to a picture of who she believed to be his mother and three sisters read, “Stop adoring yourself and come see us.”

A picture of possibly his youngest sister posing dramatically had a note attached which read, “So what, you’re handsome. But I’m stunning.”

“Nae, Nae, is asking for her fairy godmother Gavin.” Was the note clipped to a photo of a cute little girl dressed in a princess costume sitting on Gavin’s lap. He had a tiny crown on his head.

All were heartwarming. Had she missed out on not having a larger family? At least a sibling? Had she denied Hunter the same? Not intentionally. No. It just didn’t happen. Between David’s career and her focusing on giving her son everything she could—years passed.

Taking her glass of wine back into the living space, she chose to sit in a leather chair. A dark, leather chair. She found it comfortable. Consuming. He had an obvious penchant for dark, large furniture. He had a high-top dining table with bulky chairs all made with a deep, dark wood. In the corner behind it, she noticed a couple guitar cases. Did he play?

Gavin entered through the kitchen. Suddenly and impatiently. “I hope you’re naked. If not… get out of your clothes now,” he instructed.

She watched as he scanned the place looking for her. The giant chair did swallow her up, but his eyes found her, and she watched his mischievous, lusty smile reach his eyes.

“I just poured myself some wine. I think I’m happy to sit here and enjoy it for now,” she teased.

He raced over, lunged for her and lifted her out of the chair. Circling, he sat with her straddled across his lap. Within seconds. Yes seconds. He had her naked from the waist down.

Though she found his impatience and dexterity extremely hot, she couldn’t stop laughing. Not until he freed his erection and embedded it deep inside of her. Clamping his hands on her ass, he glided her back and forth and the sweet burn she craved formed. Together they ignited in heated bliss.
