Some might think she stooped to juvenile tactics and chose to date a younger man and flaunt it in David’s face. Not that it would bother David. He had Denise. But she wasn’t younger. Well, not by much. And though David had several years on Gavin just as she did, David aged well and took care of himself. He had grown into the good-looking, hot, sophisticated gentleman.
It angered her that she spent any amount of time sitting there and doubting her choices. But how could she not? Even her best friend couldn’t accept it and had nothing nice to say.
She truly needed to do some inner evaluation. What motivated her and her decisions? Lol. Now Gavin did. But what gravitated her to him? And what held her there?
Not his age.
If anything, it thwarted her from seeking happiness. He made her happy. Yes, he did.
And who in their right mind would reject happiness. Especially when it didn’t hurt anyone else. So, what it might make othersuncomfortable. If it did, that was their problem. Not hers.
It dawned on Lanie that she had yet to tell Bev of Gavin’s younger age. How terrible of her to make those assumptions and react so harshly and last, but not least to label him as Lanie’s boy toy.
