“That’s very kind of you, and if you’re sure you don’t mind, I know she would love it.Kyllian and I talked it over already.Nikita wants to join me in the business, and with you teaching her what you know, that will give me time to focus on the aspects Dad handles.He said he eventually wants to retire, and the sooner that happens, the better.He deserves it.”
“Not only don’t I mind, I’m looking forward to it.I was good at what I did, but after spending time with Julian and Henry, I now know so much more, and I want to pay it forward, if you will.”
“Then I’ll tell Nikita the good news.She—”
“Major Lazlo, get your butt back in this house!”Natalia yelled after her son who ran out the back door, buck naked.
“But I’m a polar bear, Lolly!”Major dashed past Quinn and Lucy, headed for the swimming pool.He didn’t stop until he did a cannon ball in the deep end.
“Do either of you want a child?Because I have one for a couple thousand,” Natalia asked, glaring at her son.
Lucy grinned.“I’d pay double that to keep him.”
“Pay?”Natalia crossed her arms over her chest and tapped her foot on the concrete.“I’m offering that amount for someone to take him off my hands.”
Major climbed out of the pool, stomped over to his mom, and shook his hair out like a dog.“You’d miss me, Lolly.”When Natalia grabbed at him, he shrieked and took off running to the door where Hayden was waiting with a towel.
“If anyone’s buying this little dude, it’s me,” Hayden said, wrapping Major up before tossing him over his shoulder.
Mercedes stuck her head out the door.“Yeah, what he said.”Sadie was a gorgeous, curvy Latina.Her son, Mateo, was a little older than the twins, but he followed them everywhere they went.It was evident the boys spent a lot of time together.
Natalia pointed a finger at Sadie.“You remember that the next time Mateo comes home with permanent marker on his face.”
Sadie just shrugged.“It came off.Eventually.”Natalia rattled off something in Russian, and Sadie cackled.
When they returned inside, Quinn went to find Nikita to tell her the good news, but Kyllian intercepted her.“I have a surprise for you both.”
About that time, a sharp whistle filled the air, and Sutton said, “Everyone out front.”
“What’s going on?”Nikita asked.
“You’ll see,” Kyllian told her.Nikita looked at Quinn, and she shook her head.She had no idea what was going on.
When they walked out the front door, everyone was gathered around.Kyllian took Quinn and Nikita by the hands and led them to the front of the group.“Less than two months ago, I was a lonely Hound.My brothers had found their mates, and while I was happy for them, I was also a little jealous.Then Pop sent me on what I considered a babysitting job, and my life changed forever.Not only did I find my own mate but also an amazing daughter.The Lazlos are about family, and as a family we ride together.”Kyllian nodded to Hayden, who disappeared around the side of the house.A motorcycle revved to life, the garage door motored up, and a few seconds later, Hayden rolled down the driveway on a sleek, black Harley, complete with a sidecar.
“Dad!You did it!”Nikita squealed before jumping into his arms.
“I promised you I would, and I couldn’t have my other best girl riding on something that wasn’t comfortable.”He put Nikita down and held out his hand for Quinn.“Come on.Let’s take a look.”
“Dad!”Nikita gasped when she rounded the bike.Quinn joined her and knelt to admire the paint job.
“What’s it say?”Major asked, squirming in his dad’s arms.“I wanna see.”
Nikita beamed with joy.“It says, ‘Here comes Trouble,’ and it has a wolf on it.”
Hayden was beyond talented.Quinn could see why he won awards for his creations.The wolf was an exact depiction of Nikita in her shifted form.Kyllian pointed to the gas tank, and Quinn gasped.A smaller version of her Wolf adorned the tank.
“Oh, Kyll, it’s gorgeous.And that seat?”Quinn loved riding, but she had to admit the wrap-around seat would make the trip so much more enjoyable.Quinn grabbed Kyllian and kissed him, tongue and all, not caring his family was watching.Everyone gathered around, admiring Hayden’s artistry.
“You gots a wolf, and we gots a Hulk,” Marshall said softly to Nikita.
“We sure do.”Nikita brushed her fingers through his hair, then went to Hayden.“This is absolutely amazing, Uncle Hay.Thank you.”
“You’re most welcome, Nik.”
Nikita skipped over to her dad.“When can we ride?If I’d known this, I’d have brought my goggles.”
Kyllian pointed to the sidecar.“Look in there.”Nikita did, and she pulled out her goggles, waving them in the air.“Does this mean...?”
