Master of Kayos - Page 48

“Yes.I don’t know what’s going on, but Mercy has lost her fricking mind. They all have.”

“Where are you?”Kyllian wrapped his arm around Quinn’s waist, and she gripped his tee over his heart.

“The mall in Tulsa.I’m borrowing someone’s phone.Mercy took mine.”

“How did you get away?”

“You don’t want to know,” she whispered.

“You need to find a security guard.Tell them—”

“Crap! They’re coming.”Pounding feet sounded in the background as did voices yelling.

“Nikita,” Kyllian called out, but she didn’t respond.“Damnit.”

“H-hello?”a scared voice asked.

“Yeah, this is Nikita’s stepdad. Can you tell me what’s happening?”

“The girl – Nikita – tossed my phone at me and took off running. There’s a man and woman chasing her through the mall.Man, they’re really fast.”

“What’s your name?”

“Bailey.”

“Bailey, thank you for letting Nikita use your phone. If you happen to see a security guard, can you let them know what’s going on?The two chasing my girl kidnapped her.Her mom and I are on our way, but we’re a couple hours out.”

“Yes, I can do that.”

“Thank you, Bailey.”Kyllian disconnected and closed his eyes.

Quinn looked around.“Where is Kinsley?”

When no one immediately spoke up, Kyllian growled, “Answer her.”

A female cleared her throat. She was standing toward the back of the pack, and she raised her hand like she was in school.“She left earlier.Said something about an appointment in town.”

Quinn dug her fingers into Kyllian’s bicep.“Shit, she’s going to meet them.”

“I’ll have Bishop track her phone in case she doesn’t meet them at the mall.”Kyllian pried her fingers from his arm, turned so he was facing her, and kissed her forehead. His gentle demeanor changed to something she never wanted to see aimed in her direction as he strode toward Blake.“We’re going after our girl, and she will not be coming back here.Ever.You stole Nikita from her mother, your mother plotted to send a teen out by herself into unknown territory where those wolves were the worst of the worst. You’re lucky I found her when I did, or we’d be planning a funeral and so would you.You don’t deserve the title of father, and you sure as fuck don’t deserve to be Alpha.Once I getmygirl back, I’ll deal with Mercy and Jeremy myself.”Kyllian let his Lion’s head come forth. He shook his mane and roared so loud it came close to shattering the windows. When he returned to his human form, he pointed to Bethany.“You.Go inside and get a pen and paper.”

While the female did as he commanded, Kyllian took a menacing step toward Blake, his Eagle’s talons elongating.Blake’s eyes widened, and Quinn expected him to piss his pants.Bethany returned, and Kyllian continued.“Write this down.”He slowly gave her a New Troy address, and Quinn assumed it was his own.“You will pack up Nikita’s things and ship them to that address at once. When that is taken care of, you will lose the address and you all will forget about Nikita and Quinn.None of you will remember either one of them or me.”

Kyllian turned and stalked to the car, leaving the pack staring after them.Quinn had to wonder how Nikita would feel about Kyllian making such concessions with her life, but she trusted her mate. He’d met the teen, and considering he was the one she turned to when in trouble, Quinn knew in her heart Nikita trusted him too.She jogged to catch with his long strides.Once they were both seated and secure, he blew out a breath and looked over at her.She couldn’t help but smile.

“What?”

“That was so sexy. And scary. But mostly sexy.”

“You’re ridiculous.”Kyllian turned his head to start the engine, but Quinn caught the smirk.

Nikita

Nikita was stillcoming down off the high of fighting other dire wolves and being saved by Kyllian.Riding on his animal had been better than anything she’d encountered in her eighteen years. The tatted biker was fierce yet kind.Charming with his bad boy vibe. When she talked to him on the phone after he rescued her mom, Nikita’s heart sunk when Quinn wouldn’t speak to Nikita, but she trusted when Kyllian told her the reason. She trusted him more than anyone in her life. Her life that had been full of lies. She spent much of the car ride dreaming of a life with him and Quinn. He promised her a sidecar of her own if she enjoyed riding motorcycles.Nikita would so rock a pair of biker goggles. And a leather jacket. And boots.

Her whole life, she had been the perfect daughter.Wearing clothes Bethany chose for her.She made good grades. She didn’t pick fights with her siblings even though she wanted to throttle Carrie more often than not.Her little sister was a pain in the ass.Always whining about something.Nathan got away with everything being the heir.Jake was the only one she didn’t mind spending time with.He didn’t consider her the enemy, but it was only a matter of time until that changed.Nikita had towed the line so Blake and Bethany would keep her around and not ditch her like they said her mother did.But that wasn’t what happened.

Getting ready to graduate, she was supposed to be figuring out her life.Things like what to study at college, not that Blake would let her go.However, with these new revelations, all Nikita wanted was to get to know both Kyllian and her mom.Find out all about her family on her mom’s side and meet all Kyllian’s many siblings and mates. And his parents.Kyllian painted this wonderful picture of life with the Lazlos. So many Lazlos.
