PortCity Killers - Page 30

There was no other sound from him as I settled myself in front of Valentina and Collin, dagger in hand. Collin’s eyes rolled back unnaturally, until the whites were all that remained between his open eyelids.

I gasped, trying to keep the gag I could feel forming from coming up, especially not in front of these two. I gripped the blade tighter, my stomach roiling against me.

“Ignore him, muñequita. Look to me, here,” She pressed her fingers to a spot higher up than I would have thought to go.

I looked at her skeptically.

It was Don who spoke up: “If you want it to be quick, you’ll sweep the blade from side to side.”

I looked at him, his green eyes blank and unamused, unlike Valentina's. I repositioned the blade, holding it awkwardly but in a way that I thought might allow me to do what he said.

My hands shook, and Collin moaned as if he was coming out of whatever stupor he had been stuck in. I stood stock still, trying not to move as if he would swipe at me.

“He will not attack you.”

I looked back at Don again, his face was cool, impassive and bored. The savage lines of his face were hard and impenetrable. Valentina tapped at the small space she had indicated on his chest.

There was an awkward moment where I wondered if I should lift his shirt or not, but I guess it wouldn’t really fucking matter now would it?

“Quit stalling, Alex.”

Valentina’s voice was hard, but her eyes were still joyful. The contrast made my heart flutter, my stomach sliding all around between my organs like it was on a slip and slide. I pressed the blade right next to her finger, bracing myself on my knees for balance.

It’s easier than I would have thought–slicing into flesh. I felt the skin give and pushed harder. Collin’s body shook, twitching and gave a little jerk as I made a small sound in the back of my throat.

“I do not mind, but if you want less pain, you should move a little faster.”

“Oh, fuck.” I breathed.

She was right, of course. I was an asshole. I pushed further, using my weight to lean into the knife. It scraped against something, bone, I guess, and I gagged. My eyes clouded with tears, but I lifted further up on my knees pushing the blade farther into him.

I blinked the tears away, looking down at where Collin’s body gave way to the metal.

Something inside me clenched uncomfortably, almost needily, and everything felt a little too sexual for my tastes. I shifted my wrist not knowing how much I needed to “sweep” for it to be quickest.

Valentina’s larger hand wrapped around mine as she gripped my wrist. I looked up at her, the shock of her dusky fingers wrapping around my pale skin making my head pop up. She shifted and before I knew it Collin’s blood was dripping down my hands, hot and fast.

When I tried to pull away Valentina’s grip tightened. I jerked my wrist, but her other hand came up behind me cupping the back of my neck roughly before she closed the distance with Collin still between us.

Her lips were slick but a little too thick, the gloss sticking to my lips. Collin’s body jerked in front of me, making me whimper, but I couldn’t seem to make my knees shuffle backwards the way I knew I should.

Valentina took the opportunity of my open mouth, slipping her tongue between my lips and flicking against my teeth. I gulped in spearmint and tequila, the taste pulling a sound from me. Her grip on the back of my neck tightened, and I shuddered, my body tingling.

I panicked, pushing against Collin’s chest, but for all the movement did, I just wound up with more warmth gushing down my hand.

The tears that fell hot against my cheeks were unsurprising, but the warm wetness rushing in my panties and the pricking of my nipples under the leather jacket at the sight of his blood across my pale thighs was a little more than I had been expecting yet not completely unwelcome.

Apparently, my body didn’t understand the context of my blood kink.

“Alex!”

I ripped myself away, Valentina’s grip slackening on my wrist but no longer holding the back of my head, and I stumbled back. Valentina’s eyes dragged to my brother as I scrambled towards him.

Jaymes grabbed at my shoulders, trying to push me behind him, but I held him steady with a hand on his stomach. I didn’t want him anywhere near Valentina, no matter how much my body fluttered inappropriately at the thought of her lips on mine.

“Princesa, how surprisingly delicious.”

“You’re going to fucking pay for that.” Jaymes spit down at the carpet, and I cursed, but there was no explosion of gunfire or movement from either of the Giovenni’s.
