Bound to Cruelty - Page 49

His jaw clenches, and I can hear his teeth grinding together over the shower spray. “You think I’m just another pretty face, huh? Maybe you are just like all those other council bitches, then. Here I’d thought you were different.”

A rush of heady fear sweeps through my heated veins at the edge in his voice now. When I open my mouth to speak, he clamps his hand across my lips. “No, don’t talk. I’m not here for conversation, am I? We both know I’m only here to look pretty and lick your cunt good enough that you can crawl back to your fiancé and take his dick. So that you, and he, can forget for a little while that you don’t loathe each other.”

There’s something dark and far away in his gaze. Did I push him too far?

“Michail?” I mumble against his palm.

But it’s no use. He doesn’t even see me now. He’s gone somewhere else, somewhere deep inside himself. I don’t know if I can reach him there, not when I caused this.

Fuck. Why did I have to open my mouth? Why can’t I just fucking let shit happen for once and stop fighting back so hard, especially against things I actually want?

He slides his hand sideways, still at the same pressure until he slaps the wet tile with a loud twack. “So what will it be this time? Do you want me on my knees or are you going to sit on my face?”

As appealing as both options sound, I shake my head. “No, stop. This isn’t what I want.”

His voice is barely audible when he says, “I guess you should have thought about that before you touched me.”

MICHAIL

It’s as if something clicked in my brain. A switch, a trigger, waiting for the proper pressure. Selena is safety and ruin in one sinful package. She’s everything I want in a woman, and yet I can’t stop the words which pour from my lips.

She’s not them.

She didn’t use my body and discard me to go back to her husband. She didn’t sell me into slavery to watch me dangle.

I try to gain control again, slow things down, but my pulse is turning my cock to stone, and I can already taste her on my tongue like the worst craving.

“What will it be?” I repeat, hating every angry syllable dripping out of my mouth.

She glares up at me, her back plastered to the wall, her tits rising and falling with every strangled, angry breath. “How about neither? You walk out of this shower and go back to your lonely life.”

I bark out a laugh, and it echoes in the enclosed shower. A mocking sound. Fitting. “Not going to happen, Princess. You’re the one who says you don’t have feelings for me. Prove it. Use me like I know you want to.”

I spear my fingers into her body without warning. Her hands wrap around my wrist to pull me off, but she’s not strong enough to move me unless I want to be moved. “Just as I expected. You’re soaked, and so ready, I could slide into you right now.”

She swallows so hard I can see her throat working. “Stop it. Don’t do this. Not like this.” Her voice is barely a whisper, as if she can’t allow anyone to hear her plead at full volume. “If you do this, you can’t take it back. Not for either of us.”

I narrow my eyes and lean in, so she doesn’t miss the ice infiltrating my gaze despite the steamy shower. “You’re the one who called me a pretty decoration. Useless for anything but fucking, right?”

“You’re twisting my words. Stop it.”

I pull my fingers from her body and bring them to my mouth to lick them clean. Perfect. She tastes just as perfect as I remember.

She’s right. I am twisting her words. But it’s to remind myself that she’s part of the world which so cruelly turned me into the monster I am today. Along the way, I’d forgotten that simple fact. I can’t allow myself to forget again.

In what I assume is a last-ditch effort to pull me back, she rises to her tiptoes and presses her forehead to mine. “Michail, please. Fuck me instead. Don’t let the past ruin whatever this is, even if it doesn’t extend beyond tonight. Don’t let them win.”

I brace my hands on the wall alongside her head and breathe. Not because I fear I’ll hurt her, but because I fear I’ll say something I can’t take back.

Words tumble through my mind. How beautiful she is, how sexy she is, how much I want to claim every inch of her body with my teeth. I can’t say a single thing for fear that she really is just like the rest of them. She never claimed to be any different.
