Lady Balls (Itty Bitty Delights) - Page 8

BRADY

I barely holdin my surprise when I look to the back of the room and find a pair of green eyes staring at me. As soon as our gazes connect, hers dart away.

My dick twitches, which is very unfortunate, since I’m sitting behind my bench in the courtroom. I guess it could be worse. I could be standing. At least the podium hides my wayward dick.

I look down at the files spread out in front of me, wondering why Camila Adair is in my courtroom. I don’t remember her name on the docket. But then again, I was running late this morning because surprise, surprise, Addison was in one of her moods and threw a bitch fit about something I’m not even entirely sure about now. I learned real quick to block her out when she goes on a rampage.

As Mr. Mason is being led away after being charged with shoplifting, I discreetly look back at Camila. Once again, she quickly looks away from me, and even with her in the back of the room, I can see her cheeks turning a bright pink.

It’s been two weeks since the night in her motel room. Two very long weeks. And every single day of those two weeks, I’ve replayed our night together in my head over and over. My showers at home have become more frequent and are longer, because replaying those scenes always gets my dick so hard there’s no hope of the appendage going down without some sort of relief.

I am so goddamn screwed.

For the next hour, I force myself to concentrate and do my job as person after person stands before me and pleads their case on why charges should be dropped or why they should be released on bail.

When I slide the second to last folder to the side, I know it’s Camila’s turn. I curse myself, and my wife, for not having the time to fully prepare. Camila’s name is called, and while she and her lawyer walk to the podium, I take a brief glance at her opened file.

Charges: Indecent exposure.

My eyes slide over the details and my lips twitch. Why in the hell was Camila running across the street without a shirt on?

I look up, and although she’s actually keeping her eyes on me this time, I can tell she’s really uncomfortable. The look on her face is comical, and I have to hold in my laugh.

I slide my glasses off and drop them on top of the folder then fold my hands together.

“Miss Adair, would you like to explain to me what you were doing when you were caught outside of your house naked from the waist up?”

I shift in my chair when the mental image of her running across the street with her tits bouncing forms in my head. I bet that was a sight to see.

She bites her bottom lip. “Do I have to?”

“Since we’re here in my courtroom and you’re facing indecent exposure charges, I’d say yes, you do have to. Or if you’d like, you can just accept the charges and pay the fine. The choice is yours.” I pause. When her expression relaxes, I tack on, “Of course, that means it’ll be on your record.”

“Your Honor,” Mrs. Hamilton, Camila’s lawyer pipes in. “Can I have a moment with my client?”

I make a point to look at the watch on my wrist. “Mrs. Hamilton, it’s the end of the day, and I’m sure we’d all like to go home. You’ve had plenty of time to discuss this with Miss Adair. She’s been told the consequences of not defending her actions. It’s time she made a choice.”

She gives a tight nod. “Yes, Your Honor.”

I look at Camila and raise a brow. Her face pinches, like she’s eaten something sour. Her gaze moves across the room, I’m sure noting the few people sitting around, and she looks like she’s contemplating whether she wants to explain. I get her hesitancy. The citizens of Silver Falls are nosy as hell. There’s no doubt that within ten minutes of her opening her mouth, half the town will know what happened. It’s nearly impossible to have secrets here. Which is damn good that our little romp in the motel was not here.

“Fine.” She huffs out a breath and straightens her shoulders. “It was purely by accident. I was grabbing a shirt from the dryer after my shower when my cat got sick. I only opened the door a crack to let her out when Winston, my dog, got out. He’s a runner so instinct had me going after him because it’s always a pain to catch him. When I did, my stupid door closed behind me.”

“And it locked?”

“Yes.” She lets out a frustrated breath. “I gave my hide-a-key to the neighbor across the street so they could keep an eye on my pets while I was out of town last weekend. They still had it. Since it was during the day and most people were at work, I figured it was safe to cross the street.” She crosses her arms over her chest. “Apparently, I was wrong.”

“What happened next?”

“I was halfway across the street when Officer Sampton drove up. I tried to explain what happened and that it wasn’t my fault, but he wouldn’t listen.”

The last part of her statement doesn’t surprise me. There’s been a lot of complaints about Officer Sampton lately. Unfortunately, nothing substantial has come up, so it’s been tough for the prosecutor to build a solid case. It’s only a matter of time until he fucks up big enough that he can’t worm his way out of it.

Technically, Officer Sampton giving Camila a ticket was within the law since she was out in public indecently dressed, but I still glance at him with hard eyes. The barely hidden smirk on his face as he looks at Camila pisses me off. He must feel my eyes on him because he turns and looks my way. The smug look disappears and his expression goes blank. He knows he’s on thin ice.

I bring my gaze back to Camila. “Miss Adair, the charges will be dropped against you since it was an honest mistake and your first offense.” Her shoulders sag in relief. “However, I highly suggest you have the locks on your door fixed so this doesn’t happen again.”

“Yes, Your Honor. The lock has already been taken care of.”
