Several days had passed since Ben had revealed what Cheryl had planned, and Landon didn’t have a single fucking clue as to how to handle it. He’d talked to his father, and his only response had been for him to talk to Alexa.
Now, he was stumped as to how to tell his true mate that the woman who attacked her was also going to stake a claim on him. He didn’t fucking know when, or if it was even possible, but it was going to happen. Ben had told him there was no backing down. He’d tried to talk to Cheryl to get her to stop this nonsense, but she wouldn’t budge. She was determined to have Landon any way she could, even if he didn’t want her.
Running a hand down his face, Landon sat on the edge of the bed, waiting.
Alexa asked for some privacy in the bathroom tonight, and he didn’t want to argue with her. He was already trying to figure out a way of getting rid of the Cheryl problem.
The door to the bathroom opened, and he looked up to see Alexa in a robe.
“You look tense.”
She’d asked him to take a shower first, and he had. He sat in his towel, letting himself dry naturally.
“I am. Look, there is something we need to talk about it. It’s kind of important.”
“You do look like you need to talk.” She stepped close to him, and then she surprised him by dropping the robe, standing before him naked.

Ben had told him the only way to stop Cheryl’s true claim would be to take Alexa for himself. To mate with her. To crudely put it, to fuck her.

“Yes, I want this.”
“Then we’re going to make it as good as possible.” He pressed a kiss to her lips, but he didn’t linger, stroking down and going toward her neck.
