Jaw clenched, I shift into drive and peel around the back of the market where there’s another entrance, and block Pascal Havemeyer from getting into a waiting town car.
V, for all her fucking distractions, does what I need her to without being asked. She sees the girl, shoots me a look, and then yanks open her door and drags the poor girl kicking and screaming into the passenger seat.
