“Mr. Vice, we won’t ask you again to remove yourself from Miss Hawkes.”
He chuckles like it’s the most hilarious thing, and then lifts himself off me. Adrien’s men escort him out.
I sit up, clutching my fucking broken wrist like a wounded bird. Dante is standing in the doorway, arms crossed, a look of utter dismay on his face.
“You finally turned up?’
“Have I taught you nothing?”
“The bed is too fucking soft for a sweep,” I snap at him.
“Stay here, I’ll get one of Adrien’s medics.”
“No, I’ll go myself. Just help me up.”
He sighs, comes into the room and offers a hand. I take it with my good arm and he lifts me up with ease. At that moment, Lorcan and Dino turn up. The look on their faces when they see Dante helping me off the bed is priceless.
“What the fuck?” Dino pants, out of breath like he’s been running. “Viola, are you okay?”
“I’m fine,” I say.
“We heard screaming.” Lorcan gives Dante a hostile look. “What did you fucking do to her?”
I roll my eyes. “Nothing. He’s just helping me up.”
Dante stares at the boys and then shakes his head at me. “You said you were done with this, V.”
“You’re the one she should be fucking done with,” Lorcan says gruffly.
Dante’s mouth curls up into an evil smile. “Is that so?”
“Oh, for fuck’s sake,” I say. I close my eyes and then open them again. Nope. They’re all still here, pissing over each other like a bunch of fucking tom cats. “I’m going to get my wrist looked at. Stay here.”
Noneof them listen to me. All three follow me down to the treatment room Adrien uses for his physio. I draw the line at them all coming in with me, crowding it. I make them wait outside. It doesn’t take long for the medic to bound my wrist in a splint. It’s a clean break.
When I come out, Lorcan and Dante are nowhere to be seen, only Dino is left waiting with a bottle of water.
“All good?” he asks, stepping forward.
“Doctor said I should get it x-rayed but fuck that,” I say, trying to open a packet of pain killers. I’m going to need something stronger when it wears off. Dino ends up opening the packet for me.
I take a few pills with some water, clearing my throat. “Did you find Lily yet?” I ask. If he has, that’s one less problem I have to worry about.
“Finn is still looking for her,” Dino says.
“And Griffin? Did Lorcan get Rebecca’s location off him?”
Dino nods. “Dante and Lorcan are going there now.”
I raise both brows. “Together?” Did I step into an alternate universe or something?
“It wasn’t mutual. Neither of them trusts the other one.”
Okay. That makes more sense. Suddenly the room spins and I feel extremely tired. I stumble into Dino. He zooms in and out of focus as he grabs hold of me.
“Did you fucking drug me again, Sinner?” I slur.
“No, of course not.”
