She blinks at him and then pulls away from me. “I don’t fucking have time for this,” she says, walking off.
My brother smirks. “Kards,” he says, using my nickname from when we were kids. “I never knew you had it in you. I assumed she was a frigid little bitch.”

He walks up close, still fucking smiling like he knows a secret he’ll never tell. “Or you’ll what? What will you do, little brother?”
“I’ll kill you,” I say softly. And I mean it.
His smile widens, eyes glazing over making him look insane. “Ah. There’s the Kardinal I know and love, right fucking there. Who knew the little bitch was all you needed to grow a pair of balls?
