A Promise of Torment (A Violent Agenda) - Page 6

Lorcan, eyes full of distrust, doesn’t bother to move. He just blinks at me from the side of the bed where he’s sitting. “So you can run off again? Fuck no, you’re going to answer some questions first.”

I dart my gaze to Dino, appealing to the weakest link.

“Lorcan’s right,” Dino says with a sigh.

I arch a brow, glaring between the two of them from where I’m trussed up on the mattress.

“Are you serious?” I say.

“Completely,” says Lorcan.

“Fine. Just tell me how you got in here.”

“We tailed Dante. The bastard found us and brought us here. You were out cold when we found you.”

“Dante brought you here?” I say in disbelief. “Why would he do that?

“Oh, no you don’t. We’re asking the questions, not you.” Lorcan’s tone is practically scathing.

I blink at him. “Fine. Untie me and I’ll tell you what you want to know.” I lift my hands up.

Lorcan looks at me, and then folds his arms.

Fuck you then.I switch my attention to Dino. I don’t miss his gaze avert to Lorcan. Fucking pussy. “Grow a pair, Vice, why don’t you,” I snort. He hesitates for a few seconds, but then comes over and starts undoing the tape around my wrists.

“Good boy,” I say, patting Dino on the cheek when my wrists are free. Dino gives me a sorrowful look, like I’m utterly doomed. Then he shakes his head and steps away from me, like I’m some kind of monster.

Dante had the tape tight. I suppress the urge to rub my wrists and instead glare at Lorcan. He’s still upset, but there’s a flash of something else—fear.

“Okay what is it? Why are you both creeping around me like I’m some kind of animal?”

“Have you looked in the mirror lately?” Lorcan drawls.

I narrow my eyes and then sit up higher so I can see myself in the dressing table mirror at the end of the bed. My hair is all over the place and my pupils are large, making my eyes bigger. But that’s not why the boys are scared.

Blood stains coat my mouth and lips. My reflection is a vision of hell.

It makes me grin, and the wild girl in the mirror gives me an insane looking smile back with dark red teeth.

Then it comes back to me. I bit Dante right where his heart was. Did I damage his butterfly? Maim a wing? The giggle escapes me before I can stop it.

“It’s not funny, Viola,” Dino sighs.

“Oh, bloody hell. Do you really think I’m going to bite you?” I say to both of them.

Lorcan cocks his head. “I wouldn’t put anything past you. You’re acting like a crazy bitch right now.”

“I thought you liked that,” I say, licking my finger and smearing the blood over my lips and then sucking my finger clean. Lorcan’s eyes bulge out of his head, and Dino’s complexion gets whiter than I’ve ever seen it, and he’s pale as fuck being a redhead.
