Micah (The Corsetti Empire) - Page 21

“You don’t get to run away.”

“Micah, I’m hardly running. I’ll just be down the hall.”

He reached for her bottle of water and placed it back on the nightstand. Then he leaned forward, pulled the covers from her, and scooped her up like a small child.

“I told you I was going to take care of you and I am. Down the hall is too far. You’re staying with me tonight.”

He made his way into the bathroom with her and placed her on her feet next to the built in shower. It was the size of a small bedroom. Four different shower heads were all angled perfectly so they intersected at the center of the shower. Up above, she could see a waterfall shower head that wasn’t on but made her curious enough to stare.

“It’s nice to relax under, but a bit much just to get cleaned up quickly. Come with me,” he said as he stepped into the shower, reaching a hand out for her to follow him.

The water felt amazing against her skin. Warm water cascaded over the both of them as he held her close. She looked up at him just as he lowered his head, capturing her lips with his.

“I’m sorry I was so rough with you, I’m afraid this may hurt for a few days,” he said, running his finger over her tender lip.

Then he lowered his head further and placed a kiss on her neck. She winced at the pressure, but the pain that hit only flooded her with the recent memories of what they had experienced together.

“Are you okay?” His voice was just loud enough for her to hear him over the water.

“I’m very okay,” she said, unable to hide the smile on her face.

Micah reached for a washcloth and coated it in soap that smelled like him. She stood under the warm water as he gently washed her body and then her hair. Isabel had never experienced that type of intimacy before. No one in her life had ever cherished her in the way Micah had. The warm water and his caresses had relaxed her more than she expected. Micah washed himself quickly, then turned off the water. He reached for a large white towel and once he had thoroughly dried her off, he wrapped her in a fluffy white robe.

“Have a seat on the bench. I’m going to dry off, then I’ll get some ointment for your neck and thigh.”

She did as he asked and watched every move he made. Micah’s body was something you would have thought was sculpted from clay. He wasn’t overly large, but fit beyond belief. She couldn’t pull her eyes from him and he noticed.

“Like what you see?”

She glanced down, trying to pretend she hadn’t been ogling his ass.

“I like it when you blush,” he said, stepping forward with nothing but a towel around his waist.

“I wasn’t blushing.”

“No?”

“No, I wasn’t.”

“Okay Iz, you're right, you weren’t blushing,” he smiled down at her before turning to his bathroom vanity, “Here, this will help with the healing. Although I’m certain the bruising will take a few days to clear up.”

“It’s okay, I kind of like it,” she said, lifting her hand to her neck as he was rubbing the ointment into the mark on her thigh. Not only was she sporting a clear outline of Micah’s teeth, she was already bruised from the sucking and nibbling he had started with hours earlier.

“Well, let’s just make sure we have you covered up for the office. Now that the word is out about our ‘relationship’ I’d rather not add fuel to the fire.”

“Right. Of course.”

Isabel was suddenly filled with shame over the pleasure the marks gave her. Why would Micah do that to her if he was so concerned about what others would think? There was a lot going on between them that she was going to need clarification on, but now wasn’t the time. He reached for a brush and began brushing her hair while she watched him in the mirror. Her mind was messing with her. She loved what he was doing but couldn’t help but wonder how many other women he had done this for. The idea of Micah with another woman after what they had experienced together made her sick. She was desperate for space so she could think, but didn’t want to admit that to him either.

“Are you tired?” he asked, causing her to jump.

“Sorry, I... I was just off in space for a minute. Yes, I’m tired. Are you?”

“Come on, let’s lie down.”

He reached for her hand and guided her back into the bedroom. When they got to the bed, he reached for the tie of her robe and removed it from her, placing it on the nearby chair. He lifted the covers for her and she crawled across the bed as he followed behind her. Soon after, he turned out the lights, pulled her tight to his body and placed a kiss on her lips.

“Good night, Izzy girl.”
