The Night the King Claimed Her - Page 44

Braced above her, he grazed his knuckles down her body and tested the cleft between her legs once more. ‘You’re so hot for me,’ he groaned.

‘Yes.’

He dropped his hips and she felt the first intimate press of him. She was unaccustomed to the weight of any man, let alone a man as tall and muscular as he, but she loved the sense of security—of being pinned in place by him—right at her core. The searing invasion of his rigid body was too slow. She sighed achingly. She wanted him to hold her so close that she couldn’t escape. So tight that no one could take her from him. So completely that no one could send her away. Ever. She cried out because that wish was so close—but ultimately impossible.

‘Elsie? You with me?’ He paused at this most pivotal of moments, his muscles bunching with tension.

‘Yes.’ The breathiest of whispers as she blinked through the shock and the intensity of her emotions. ‘Take me. Please.’ A raw cry of need.

With a thrust he fully breached both her physical and emotional barriers. She cried out again at the intense, ferocious reality of his possession. He was hers. ‘Yes,’ she sobbed. ‘Yes.’

‘Elsie.’ He huffed a growl as she arched her hips to let him slide that bit further, easier inside her.

He kissed her and moved slowly, taking such care in his caresses, testing her response to his touch, so attuned he adjusted his timing, the depth and intensity of each thrust to make her savour each moment of this discovery...until he aroused her to the point of madness. And he knew—because it was at that exact moment that he grinned at her.

‘This what you wanted?’ His playfulness returned.

Her heart sang. She wanted to provoke him. In part to hide the emotional intensity of sharing herself with him. She’d not expected this to mean so much. But it did. And she wanted it to be like that for him too. Instinctively she nipped his lower lip the way he’d nipped hers earlier.

‘You want it harder?’ His eyes sparkled.

‘I want you out of control.’ She was beyond eager to see that, to feel it, to be the cause.

‘Be careful what you wish for, Elsie.’ A low growl, a glittering tease.

‘What are you going to do?’ she challenged. ‘Tie me down and touch me till I scream?’

He thrust deep inside her and stilled—his eyes drilled as deep as his body. He let his full weight drop on her so she couldn’t move. With heart-shuddering ease he clamped his hands around both her wrists and lifted them above her head. There he pinioned them together in the one hand and held them firmly to the mattress. Now she really could barely move.

‘I can feel you getting hotter,’ he growled. ‘And tighter...’ He half choked. ‘Shouldn’t be possible but...oh.’ He groaned as Elsie quivered with another of those pre-orgasmic clenches she couldn’t control.

The slip in his facade when she did that? She realised it was the key to his loss of control. She rocked her hips—the slight amount she could—and squeezed on him again.

‘Elsie.’ A warning this time.

One she was utterly thrilled to ignore. Because while he had her wrists pinned, making her his very willing prisoner, she now lifted her legs and locked them around his hips. And she wasn’t letting him go either. He swore with such barely contained savagery, it heated her more. She rocked, using muscles she’d not worked much before, driving him until he took over completely. Lost to the rhythm and the most basic of urges, they pounded together. Her gaze was locked on his, watching the gorgeous agony as he fought to delay the delicious inevitable drowning of reason. Sensation pummelled her as he rolled his hips, pushing harder and deeper and rubbing her right where she needed. As she screamed he released her wrists and hauled her closer. His body shook as his orgasm surged and electrified her own. Hands released, she clutched him so hard she’d leave scratches on his back. But his breath was in her ears. His words. Her name. Over and over.
