Our Fugitive Bride (Treasure Falls Brides 1) - Page 12

CHAPTER7

Aweek had passed since the brides arrived in Treasure Falls. Every day, Jesse and Andrew came by and took her for a walk, showed her the town, took her for a buggy ride. Every day, they were at her side, asking her questions, getting to know her.

And every day, she meant to talk to Grace, but never had the chance until today. Today the older woman told her they would talk.

Searching the house, she heard Grace giggling in Dr. Owen’s office. “Soon we’ll be alone again.”

“And I’m going to make you howl with pleasure,” the man said in a rugged harsh voice. “You’re going to be screaming my name.”

Oh, dear, she should leave. They were busy, and though she couldn’t see them, just from the sounds of their voices they were doing what married people did.

“I can hardly wait,” Aunt Grace said with a gasp, her voice deep and husky.

A smack resounded through the air and it almost sounded like he’d hit her, but she couldn’t imagine the good doctor hitting his wife. No good man ever hit a woman and he was most definitely a good man.

“Oh, you know that’s right where I like it,” the woman said. “I can’t wait for you to do it again and again.”

Oh dear, she needed to leave. Turning, she bumped into the table and knocked books onto the floor, making a loud bang.

Grace appeared at the door to the doctor’s office.

“Mary? Is there something you need?”

Quickly she picked up the books. When she glanced at Grace, she felt her cheeks redden. What was she doing? It was time to flee.

Whirling around, she called, “Come find me…when you’re done.”

The woman laughed but let her go. A few minutes later, she found Mary sitting outside in the garden.

“What’s wrong, Mary?”

“I’m sorry. I felt like I was interrupting something,” she said, not looking at the woman. How could she talk to her about sex when she’d overheard them? It sounded sexual. It sounded like fun.

“You were, but it’s all right. Uncle Owen is getting a mite randy. It’s been a couple of weeks since we’ve had sex. You’ll soon learn that you long for the touch of your husbands. I still miss Silas every day. He was an important part of our life, just like Andrew and Jesse will soon be special for you.”

So many questions were swirling in her head.

Mary sighed. “I don’t understand how it works having two men as your husband. I’m not against it, I just need to know what to expect. This is nothing like my parents’ marriage and they were happy.”

What she couldn’t say was her sister’s marriage was just the opposite. Ugly, hateful, and brutal, right up until Elizabeth died.

Grace smiled and picked up her hand. “It’s wonderful, Mary. Two men to take care of you. To make certain that you’re happy, protected, who would give their lives to save you. It’s dangerous here in Montana and my men have kept me from danger. They’ve given me pleasure beyond my wildest dreams and a family.”

There were so many questions and she wasn’t answering her most important ones. “But aren’t they jealous of each other? How can you have sex together at the same time? That’s not possible, is it?”

She knew so little about sex and this was what terrified her the most about marriage. The wedding night.

Aunt Grace seemed so relaxed, so happy. She and the doctor were like one. What did it take to have a relationship like that? That’s not what her sister had at all.

“No, the men understand that you belong to them. It’s all about your wants and desires. They are going to do everything they can to please you. They want you to be happy. Eventually, they will claim you together,” she said.

“What? How?”

Grace smiled. “Remember, they would never hurt you.”

Thank goodness for that. Especially after what Frank had done to Elizabeth. She’d seen the bruises, the black eye. And always her sister had said it was her fault and not his. That she had done something that upset him and she deserved what he did to her.

Who the hell said that kind of thing? No woman deserved to be treated that way. Especially not her sister.

“How can they both claim me,” she asked, wanting answers before she agreed to this arrangement.

A bee pollinating the flowers buzzed about the flowers in the garden.

“Eventually one of them will claim your ass. One will claim your pussy, but believe me, it’s pleasurable. You’ll enjoy taking both of your men at once. They will make it easy on you, and it won’t happen right away.”

Stunned, Mary sat there and stared at Grace. What woman in her right mind would do this? And yet what choice did she have? She couldn’t return to Charleston. And she was attracted to both men. But to take them in her ass?

“But doesn’t it hurt?”
