Pretty Little Sins (Kings of Bolten 2) - Page 46

“I’m not jealous.”

“You are. You’re mad because I was talking to Celeste.”

She shook her head. “I’m not. I’m mad because you’re supposed to be watching over me, but you’d rather watch her tits than make sure I’m safe.”

I let out a bark of bitter laughter. “You’re ridiculous, you know that? You hate us trailing you. You’ve shaken me off more times than I can count. And that’s just me. You’ve dipped on Vincent too. In fact, you ran off to fuck that piece of shit, so don’t act like you’re an angel, Bianca. You’re not. You messed around with someone else behind our backs after you gave your word. So what if I talked to some chick in the courtyard? At least I didn’t fuck her.”

She glared at me, her body shaking. “At least Fallon wasn’t scared to fuck me.”

I snorted, trying to control my anger. “I wasn’t ever scared to fuck you, Bianca. Don’t get shit twisted in your head. I chose not to. That’s called self-fucking-preservation. I knew you’d do this kind of shit. I was distancing myself so you couldn’t fuck me up like you have Dom and Vincent.” I shook my head at her. “Why do you care anyway? You hate me.”

“You’re right. I do hate you.” Her bottom lip wobbled as she glared up at me.

I backed away, her words hitting me deeper than I wanted them to. “Then it doesn’t matter who the fuck I talk to or what I do with them, does it?”

“It doesn’t,” she choked out. “If it came down to choosing one of the kings, I’d have chosen anyone but you. Every. Single. Fucking. Time. ANYONE but you. You and I will never happen again. I don’t fucking want you. I’ll never want you, Levin Seeley. As far as I’m concerned, I’m done with just the fucking thought of you!”

I swallowed, bile working its way up my throat at her words. “Good to know.”

I wasn’t about to stand there and be broken like that, so I turned on my heel and stormed out of her room, slamming the door behind me, but not before I heard her let out a choked sob, which completed breaking me.

Fuck it. If she didn’t want me, that was fine. I deserved it. But I wasn’t going to just stand back and be miserable because she wanted me to be.

If she didn’t want me, then I was sure someone else would. I pulled my phone out and wiped at my eyes before hitting SEND on a number.

“Hey,” a soft, sultry voice answered. “I didn’t think you’d call so soon.”

“Yeah. I, uh, I thought us going out might actually be a good idea. How about next Friday?”

Celeste giggled softly, the noise doing nothing for me, but I forced myself to focus.

“Friday is perfect.”

“Great,” I managed to say. “I’ll text you.”

“Sounds good.”

I bid her goodbye and hung up the phone. Dejected, I leaned against the wall next to Bianca’s room and sent a text off to Vincent.

Me: Please come watch Bianca in her room. I can’t.

He replied immediately.

Vincent: Why?

Me: I just need you to come.

Vincent: Fine. Give me ten.

I shot off a thumbs up and darkened my screen, counting down the minutes until I could get the fuck away from there because even though there was an entire wall between us, I could still feel her presence.

And fuck if I didn’t want to break the wall down and beg her to fucking love me.

But I wasn’t that guy, and she clearly wasn’t that girl, so I’d just let it go. Lesson learned. I was done too.
