Never Hide Again - Page 57

My body goes limp with each delicious rift he delivers. It’s in beat to his unraveling and cursing.

White rolls through my mind, like smoke. It hazes out the rest of the universe, sucking me into the blissfully oblivious. Yet even this lost, I’m deeply aware of the sob spilling from Grant’s chest as he pumps into me one last time.

He sounds beautifully broken—he sounds like he belongs to me.

He slumps against my body, driving the air out of my lungs. The sweat on his body mingles with mine, the heavy huffs he makes catching in the shell of my ear. My hands instinctively find his hair, and I sweep back his thick, luscious strands, the biggest smile beaming across my mouth.

“Holy fuck,” Grant wheezes. “Why didn’t anyone tell me it could feel like this?”

My agreeing moan is all I can reply with.

Silence sweeps in and Grant stays as he is, not moving besides the occasional kiss to my temple.

Our ride goes on, and the car continues turning around the streets for some stretch of time. Eventually, I lose track, not that I’m trying to chase it.

In the dark, I lie with my angel, less afraid than I was before the evening started. Slowly, I start falling into the belief that I can finally be more, and that the past is just that—the past.

I fade into a place where nothing hounds me—where I’m strong, safe, secure, untouchable.

I fade into subspace, the only light home being Grant’s heart, which is beating right against mine and does so for the rest of the night.
