Flying High - Page 20

She’s shaking as her orgasm consumes her. Her arms are stretched out on the bed as she moans in ecstasy.

I watch her and take in every second, knowing that my seed is taking root in her body. She’s mine now. All fucking mine.

When I finally pull out of her, my cock is coated in our cream. It’s all mixed together in a beautiful sight. She turns and looks at it as I lay beside her and swallow her in my big protective arms.

I’ll never let this girl go. I’ll never let her get hurt or want for anything.

She’s mine and I’ll take care of her forever.

Her and our baby that’s growing right now in her womb.

I slide my hand on her stomach and inhale her heavenly scent. This is the place for me. The place where I belong.

Sweaty and satisfied beside my girl.

“Not too much,” Jack says as I bank the helicopter to the right. “We want smooth movements for our guests. We don’t want to plaster them against the windows.”

I smile as I correct the helicopter.

“Much better,” he says with an approving nod.

Getting approval from him fills me with a glowing warmth. Everything about this man fills me with a glowing warmth.

After our incredible night together, we spent the morning making love in Jack’s giant bed. When I’m in his arms and he’s inside of me, it feels so perfect. Like it’s where I was born to be.

The feelings he sparks in me are so foreign, yet so familiar. It feels like my true self has ignited and emerged from a long slumbering hibernation. Every moment with this man feels like I’m living inside the pages of a fairy tale.

It’s too bad that I have to leave in three days. But… do I?

He wants me to stay. He’s been very clear about that.

But I can’t… It’s too crazy of an idea. We just met. And even though it feels perfect in every way, it won’t stay like that for long. It can’t. This isn’t a fairy tale. This is real life and in real life, the prince always gets annoyed of the maiden for leaving wet towels on the floor and eventually sends her packing.

So what? I’m going to leave a well-paying job and give up my apartment and life (pathetic though it is) in Atlanta for a one-in-a-million chance to live the life of my dreams with the man of my dreams on this gorgeous oasis of an island?

It’s unrealistic. It’s not smart.

But still… I can’t let go of the thought. It’s buried into my brain like a stubborn root that can’t be pulled out and discarded.

I can’t picture myself getting on that plane in three days. It’s going to kill me to walk back into that dreary office building next week with my cold coffee and with all of my coworkers who gave up on life a long time ago.

And my apartment… sleeping alone in my lonely bed… I can’t even imagine that anymore…

The life I’m headed back to seems so boring. So average. So uninspiring.

Everything about this place is exciting and thrilling. Not a second has been boring. I never know what’s going to happen next.

“Very good,” Jack says through my headset in that sexy voice of his. “Now hit that green switch over your head. Great.”

After Jack’s chef made us breakfast, Jack brought me to his hangar and introduced me to the training helicopter. There are two joysticks in this one—one for each of us—but I kind of miss the chopper from yesterday. Flying was much more fun with my hand between his legs gripping that long hard joystick.

“You’re a natural,” he says. “You’ll be flying like a pro before the end of the month. I’m sure of it.”

He’s sure of it. This man is pure confidence and seems absolutely sure that I’m staying.

A swell of emotions surges through me from optimism to doubt to excitement to sadness. Can I really stay? Could I really leave?

I don’t know…

I take in the spectacular scenery from up here and get a hold of myself. I’m actually flying a helicopter—my dream!—with a gorgeous man that I’m crushing hard on and who seems absolutely obsessed with me, in Hawaii of all places. I better get out of my head and enjoy this moment because if I do leave, I’ll never get a moment like this again.

So, that’s what I do.

I smile at Jack and he smiles back at me, making my cheeks blush.

It’s time to enjoy this magical moment with the man I feel closer to than I have with any other man before.

“Show me how to hover,” I say to him.

He grins. “Absolutely!”

“I’ve flown thousands of hours on my computer simulation,” Devon says with an air of superiority. “I’m practically a licensed helicopter pilot at this point.”
