Sharing Samantha - Page 14

Suddenly, the car stops, and I stare in amazement as the side door opens and Ken steps out.

“Oh, and Samantha?” he yells from down the driveway. “You know these two assholes are just here to sell fucking software to Martin’s company, right? You know the only reason they’re all over you is to you gush to Martin how fucking great they are. They’re not here for you, Sam,” he yells as my heart sinks into my gut.

“They’re here to get paid.”

He jumps in the car and roars away, leaving both Reece and me suddenly cold.

We turn, and when I see the pale look on her face and the hurt in her eyes, I want to scream. Both of us rush to her, both of us pulling her shivering body into our arms as we tug her inside, closing the door behind us.

The house is silent, and the kitchen is dark.

“You know that’s not true, Samantha,” Reece says quietly. “You know that’s not true.”

She’s quiet, her lip caught between her teeth as she twists her hands together.

“Do I?”

“Yes,” I growl, pulling her into me, my hands pushing her wet hair out of her face. “Yes, you do, angel. You know that’s bullshit.”

“But you are here because you’re trying to sell Martin your software, right?”

“Yes,” Reece doesn’t hesitate, or try and sugarcoat it. Which is good.

“That’s why we came, Samantha. But that is not why we’re here now.”

“So why are you here no—”

“You,” I growl, and when my lips press to hers, I’m not sure if I’m pushing it too hard, but I do know I can’t go another moment without kissing her. But, when she doesn’t pull away, and when I slowly feel her kiss me back, I can feel sweet relief melting through me. I pull away, and it’s Reece who takes my place, wrapping her in his arms and kissing her slowly and deeply.

“I…” She pulls back, and I can see the wheels turning in her head as she looks away.

“I’m going to go upstairs and take a shower. I just…I need to think.” Her eyes dart between us as she smiles slowly. “Look, it’s just a lot to take in all in one night, you know? I mean, both of you? And it’s not like you’re asking me to pick one of you or anything.”

She frowns.

“Wait, are you?”

“Not a chance,” Reece growls.

“Actually, we’re asking you not to pick,” I say gently. “Because princess, I’m pretty sure we come as a package deal when it comes to you.”

She blushes, biting her lip before she leans in and kisses me on the cheek, and then Reece.

“I just need to go think, okay?”

“Of course.”

She smiles. “You’re both staying in the guest room in the basement?”

I nod and she nods back.

“Well, goodnight.”

She turns and pads away in the darkness of the house, leaving the both of us…

Well?

Uncertain.

Uncertain, on edge, and just wanting more.

“This is it, man,” I say quietly, sinking down across one of the two beds in the basement guest room we’re staying in. “I mean, she’s it.”

“I know.” Reece blows air through his lips as he shoves his fingers through his hair. “Shit, I knew that the second I laid eyes on her. I saw her and I knew she was it for me.” He grins, turning towards me. “I knew she’d lay you out too, asshole,” he grins.

I chuckle, shaking my head before I look back at him. “So, this isn’t weird, is it?”

He shakes his head. “No. I mean, I’ve wondered if it would be if you and I ever…you know…”

“Shared?”

He nods. “But it’s not. Hell, it’s even better knowing it’s not going to come down to her ‘picking’ one of us and fucking with our friendship.” He shrugs. “Shit, that and it’s hot as fuck with both of us taking her at the same time.”

I groan. “Tell me about it. That was…” I whistle. “That was like nothing else.”

“This is going to be a problem with Martin,” Reece mutters. “You know that, right?”

“I know that.” I scowl. “Fuck Martin, man. We’ve been kissing that douchebag’s ass for a month now, and we still haven’t locked Prism into buying. And if this is a choice between making the sale and her?”

Reece’s face darkens. “Her.”

“Not even a question, is it?” I growl under my breath. I glance at the clock, and feel something sink in me. Part of me was hoping she’d “think things through” and then come down, and come back to us. But I’m starting to wonder if that was wishful thinking. It’s been over an hour since we came downstairs after she walked off in the kitchen.

Still no Samantha.

“Think we moved too fast?”

Reece’s question mirrors my thoughts, and I shake my head.

“Maybe. Shit, I don’t know. I just hope she’s not upstairs regretting this or—”

The knock on the door to the guest room is so soft that we almost don’t hear it. But then it comes again, and before we can say a word, the knob turns and the door slowly opens.
