Bump in the Night - Page 35

We get ourselves put together and make our way down to the costume and make up room, where there’s a crew waiting. An hour later, we are the perfect replicas of Morticia and Gomez Addams.

I would have never believed a year ago, when I showed up for some crazy contest in a haunted house, I’d be here right now. I’m still never sure if I’m stuck in a dream and about to wake up any minute.

The other wonderful thing is my nightmares have vanished. Since I came to Calmore a year ago, they’ve never returned and it’s just one more of a zillion miracles to be thankful for.

Carolyn comes to stand next to me as Silas is being fitted with the last of his costume. She’s dressed as Cruella de Vil, but she insisted on all fake fur for her costume, of course. She’s tough, but deep down there’s a marshmallow under there and it shows up especially when she’s with Silas, Jr.

“You know.” She elbows me as we watch my husband get his bow tie just perfect. “He never has looked at anyone like he looks at you. He never even mentioned marriage or having a family before you. Gives me hope.”

“Aww. Thank you, sis.” I lean over and give her a side hug. “Your right one will come along. I just hope he’s got the stones to handle you.”

She shrugs on a smile. “Me too. Now…I’m going to head down. Ashby is going to take the carriage ride with me. Don’t let him obsess too long about his damn tie being perfect.”

I giggle as she screws up her face at her brother and he rolls his eyes. “I won’t. Go ahead, I get him fixed up in a jiffy.”

A few minutes later, we are both tweaked and in character, ready for the evening to begin.

“Ready?” Silas holds my hand in his, up in front of us just like Morticia and Gomez did in the television show. “Mon cherie.”

“Ready, mon amour.”

We work our way out the front door, where there’s a black carriage waiting to take us to the tent where the Halloween celebration is already starting. And I don’t think I’ve ever been this happy in my life.

Things are good, life is good, and I almost have to pinch myself to make sure it’s all real.

Chapter 15

Silas

Fifteen Years Later

“It’s my dream. Doesn’t seem right we are going to do the grand opening on your birthday.” Delia rocks back and forth, balancing Holder and Henry one on each hip while I stand at the sink and use the brush to give what seems like an endless supply of sippy cups and bottles a quick wash before I load them in the dishwasher.

“It’s your dream, so it’s my dream, baby. So, I’m getting exactly what I want for my birthday.”

I slop the soapy water in and out of each container until the sink is empty, then wipe my hands on the pink and yellow frilly apron around my waist.

“You look pretty hot in that.” Delia licks her lips giving me a devilish wink.

“You’re pretty mouthy for a woman whose husband is hell bent on knocking her up again.”

She drops her head back on an exasperated groan. “Give me a few more months. Nursing these two along with Bethany is about to put me over the edge.”

I walk around and take Holder from her kissing her cheek. “They are demanding, I’ll give you that. But, we did say ten kids. We got a two-fer on this last one, so maybe the next one will be the same and we’ll be done.”

She gives me a glare, but I know she’s happy. Tired, but happy.

“I’m going to go see if the other kids are ready. Little Silas was about to have a meltdown because he didn’t want to wear the clothes I put out for him.”

“Opinionated, he is.”

My dick stiffens looking at her full tits pushed up in the red dress I gave her this morning. I’ve taken to buying most of her clothes myself and thank God she likes my taste. I’m as obsessed with her as ever and as often as we’re getting our dirty on, I still sit back sometimes, watching her sleep, or wash dishes or practically anything and jerk off because I can’t get enough.

Tonight, we are going to the grand opening of the new Battle Creek Theatre. It’s been a dream for years for Delia to have a theatre of her own. She doesn’t so much want to perform, but to make sure there is a world class theatre right here in little ole Battle Creek Michigan.

It’s not so little anymore though. The city had taken it tough for a lot of years. Part of the decimation of the auto and other industries leaving Michigan for more lucrative geography.
