Logan (Filthy Rich Alphas) - Page 36

My legs weakened. My already crumbling resistance fell apart. I wanted Logan bad and I’d been denying this one fact for the past three months.

“How slow?” he whispered again, not letting me get control of myself. He pulled me closer to him, drowning me in his overwhelming beauty, so intense. Barely leashed. Boiling sexuality ready to burn me to my core.

He turned his attention to my face, bringing his lips dangerously close. “This slow?”

And then he brushed his lips across my forehead. Subtle and sensual. My heartbeats hammered. My breath snagged in my throat.

A moan escaped me, no matter how hard I tried to keep it down. “Logan.”

“I don’t know if I can take it this slow, Mia.” His soft mouth continued to give me a gentle caress. Sweet, yet full of lust. Feather light, but still making my heart stutter. A stroke of his lips over my lids, my cheekbones, the bridge of my nose, the line of my jaw, and the curve of my throat.

He left me trembling with each carnal touch.

“How slow?” he murmured against my neck, moistening my panties.

I trembled. “Maybe, just a little faster.”

Those lips curved into a wicked grin, triggering a slow meltdown at my core. His voice shifted to a low groan. “I want you.”

Those three little words looped through my head over and over, and they symbolized the perfect description of how I felt.

“I want you too,” I whispered.

My brother called out from the living room, shattering the moment. “Hey, sis. Do you mind if Jodie comes over?!”

Rob’s footsteps sounded.

With all the strength I could muster, I moved out of Logan’s delicious hold and stepped away. A pleading light flickered in his gaze as if he didn’t want the space between us.

“Sis?” Rob appeared in the center of the doorway. “Is that cool?”

“Yeah.” I ran my fingers through my hair, needing something to take away the hormonal shivers rushing through my body. “That’s...fine...sure. I love Jodie.”

Rob had started dating her a year ago. He barely brought any woman around me, so I knew he was serious with her.

“Cool.” Rob dug in his pockets. “I’m about to grab her. We’re going to trade outlines and compare our notes from class. What I didn’t get from the professor, I’m sure she did. Basically, we’re a power couple.”

“Yes. Yes. I don’t need the power couple speech.” I waved him out of there. “You’re in love. You two rock. Just go!”

Rob chuckled and turned to Logan. “Mia is jealous that Jodie and I make the Obamas look like the Flintstones.”

Logan quirked his eyebrows. “I don’t get it.”

“Because it doesn’t make any sense,” I added. “He’s just a puppy in love who has a thing about sibling competition. I don’t know why you’re even bragging. I have no man anymore.”

“Oh shit.” Rob’s smile shifted to a neutral expression. “My bad, Mia.”

“No. It’s not a big deal.” I tried not to glance at Logan. “I’ll be getting over Tyson very soon.”

“Good,” Rob said. “Just don’t jump in bed with no jackass. Give yourself time to heal over this guy, then after several months, see what’s out there.”

Embarrassed, I nodded. “Uh...yeah...that’s what I’m doing.”

Uncomfortable tension filled the kitchen.

“I’m out.” Rob threw up the peace sign and left.

The front door slammed shut.

A minute of silence passed before Logan spoke. “I’m not a jackass.”

“What?”

“Your brother warned you from jumping into bed with a jackass. I just wanted to let you know that I wouldn’t hurt you. And no matter how I...teased you with the idea of taking it slow—”

“Is that what that was?” I grinned. “Teasing.”

“Oh yes. I’m finding that I like to tease you.” His gaze locked with mine as he came closer.

Trapped, all I could do was stand there as he pressed his hard body against mine, his thick cock brushing against my thigh. Anticipation curled in my chest as my brain scrambled.

My brother wanted me to take my time and not rush into anything. But all I yearned for in that moment was to drag Logan to my bed. Maybe I could have blamed it on the alcohol. Perhaps I could’ve pointed to the fact that it would be delicious revenge to fuck my ex’s best friend.

But in my heart—deep within my secret desires—I knew that I craved Logan so bad, sometimes it hurt to be around him.

“Hmmm.” He was closer. Not even a half of an inch passed between us. “You have been my obsession for these past months.”

“I still can’t believe it.”

“Believe it.”

“I-I will.”

“You sound nervous.”

“I am.”

“Don’t be nervous with me. Like you said, we’ll take it slow.”

I smirked.

“What?” He grinned.

“Every time you say slow, it makes me want to moan.”

Lust blazed in his eyes. “That’s my intention.”

“Logan. Logan. What are you doing to me?”

“We’ve wasted enough time in these past months. So...what will we do now?”
