Hold on to My Heart (Maine Sullivans) - Page 28

Again, she was barely done speaking before he started to fulfill her fantasy. Crouching lower, he used his hands to widen her thighs so that he could put his mouth on her sex.

He tasted her. He teased her. He pleasured her. He made her feel the kind of ecstasy that no one else ever had.

With his tongue over her aroused flesh, with the fingers of one hand moving inside of her, with his free hand on her breasts, he knew how to drive her completely insane.

He knew that a nibble here, a lick there would make her writhe and buck against him.

He knew that the heat, and the pleasure, would keep rising higher and higher inside of her until it finally burst into flames of joy, and wonder, and soul-deep pleasure.

She was on the verge of begging him for a moment to catch her breath, to get her brain working again, to try to remember something, anything about who she was and the life she’d led up until today. But then she heard him tearing open the condom wrapper, and she forgot about anything except having him inside of her.

“Do you think your legs can hold out just a little bit longer?”

“Please,” was her answer. “Please take me, Nash.”

He lifted one of her legs high enough so that her calf was wrapped around his hip, and then he cupped one large hand over her hip.

“I’ll do all the work,” he said against her lips, stealing a kiss. And then another. “All you need to do is hold on tight.”

The next thing she knew, he was inside of her. Thrusting high and deep and rough and perfect.

She’d never known such bliss, or felt as happy as when Nash took her and made her his.

In this very moment, it wasn’t just her body that was his. Her heart was too. Because he’d shown her, in the most glorious of ways, just how much more there was to life. To joy. To adventure.

She would never forget this perfect day.

She would never forget him.

And then there were no more thoughts, because all she could do was feel. Feel Nash inside of her, over her, holding her, kissing her, caressing her as warm water ran over and between their bodies. Feel another climax rip through her as he came apart in her arms, their combined pleasure tearing the old Ashley Sullivan apart so that she would have no choice but to wake from tonight a brand-new person, inside and out.

A short while later, he turned the water off, toweled them both dry, then carried her to the bed. The last thought she had before falling asleep was how wonderful it was to be held in Nash’s strong arms while he spoke her name with wonder.

CHAPTER NINE

Ashley woke to the sound of pounding on the front door. She was momentarily disoriented. This wasn’t her bed. This wasn’t her house. And she had never woken up in a man’s arms.

Seconds later, technicolor memories of the previous, wonderful day—and sinfully glorious night—came rushing back to her.

Nash wasn’t yet stirring when she heard a voice from outside her door. “Ashley, are you in there?” It was her brother’s voice.

Why was Brandon here? And why did he sound so worried?

Oh God, it had to be Kevin. She hadn’t checked her phone for hours. Something must have happened to her son!

She jumped out of bed and only barely remembered to wrap a robe around herself before she yanked the door open. “Is Kevin okay? Did Mom and Dad call you to say that something is wrong?”

Brandon shook his head, clearly surprised by her anxious questions. “As far as I know, everything’s fine with Kevin. I haven’t heard anything from Mom or Dad to the contrary.”

Relief swept through her. But she still needed to know for sure. She looked around for her bag. Where had she left her phone last night?

Oh yes, there it was, in her bag on the floor by the door. Where she’d dropped it when she and Nash had started kissing.

She pulled out her phone, and her relief was complete as she saw a smiley face emoji from Kevin. Her mother had texted as well to say that everything was going great and that she hoped Ashley was having a wonderful time in Vienna.

If only her mom knew just how wonderful a time she’d been having with Nash…

Now that the adrenaline had left her body, she felt drained. Sinking onto the nearest seat, she looked up at her brother. “If it’s not about Kevin, then why were you banging on the door, desperate to see me?”

“I tried to reach you late last night and then again early this morning, and when I didn’t hear from you, I assumed the worst. This is the first time you’ve been in a foreign country. And given that I left you with Nash yesterday, who knows what kind of trouble he could have gotten you into?”
