Aiding the Dragon (Stonefire Dragons 7) - Page 46

Teagan hung up and looked back at him. He raised his brows in question and she answered, “One of the Protectors found a spy in the nearby forest.”

He scooped up her clothes and handed them over. “Who?”

She took the clothes. “A Protector from Clan Wildheath. I’m sorry, but I need to check in and probably interrogate him.”

He shrugged. “Don’t apologize. Clan comes first, always.”

Confusion flashed in her eyes, but quickly vanished. “Yes. And while I wish I could invite you to help, you should probably go to your own cottage. Otherwise, my brother might take notice of us. For all that it’s a night of no strings attached, there’s no denying things will always be slightly different between us.” She pointed toward his crotch. “And, of course, there’s that.”

Her gaze zeroed in on his straining cock, punching against his jeans. If she kept looking at his dick, he would never be able to tame the bastard. Aaron cleared his throat. “I’d suggest a quick wash as well. We can finish this tomorrow evening, after supper.”

Her brows furrowed. “Tomorrow?”

“We didn’t get a full night as promised. We have some hours to make up for. Besides, I can’t wait to see you on all fours with your arse up in the air, hips wiggling in anticipation for my cock.” He paused and added, “Unless you truly don’t want it. I’ll never force you to do something you don’t want when we’re alone, Teagan. I hold a different opinion when it comes to making you eat or take a break, though.”

She stared a few seconds and Aaron’s heart rate kicked up. He’d deny it to anyone who asked, but he wanted to sleep with Teagan more than he even wanted to admit to himself. Tasting her once wasn’t enough.

Bloody hell, he was in trouble.

His dragon huffed. Why such the big deal about wanting to see her again? She’s strong, loyal, pretty, and intelligent. Any male would want her.

That’s not what I’m afraid of, and you know it.

Your fear is blinding you to what you might need.

She walked up to him and touched his cheek, banishing everything but her touch and words. “I still want to see your gorgeous, naked body. But only for tomorrow evening and no more.”

Rather than answer, he kissed her. He lingered another few seconds before he released her sweet lips. “I look forward to hearing you scream my name.”

With a wink, he turned and gathered his belongings. He probably wouldn’t sleep much during the night, but it gave him time to plan what to do to Teagan the following day. If he only had one night, he was going to make it count.

His beast huffed. I doubt one night will be enough.

Too bad. It’s going to have to be.

Chapter Eleven

Teagan had expected Aaron to curse and act like a spoiled child when she mentioned needing to attend to the clan’s safety. Any other male she’d been with who’d brought her to orgasm but didn’t find his own would’ve done so, complete with grumpy, stilted responses.

Yet as she closed the distance to the Protectors’ main building, she remembered Aaron’s quick acceptance and promise of another go the next day.

He kept destroying her assumptions about him. Maybe there was a reason from his past as to why he’d been grumpy every time she’d talked with him before his recent arrival on Glenlough.

Not that she should care. He wasn’t part of her clan and he’d return to Stonefire soon enough.

Her dragon spoke up. Do you want him, too?

What kind of question is that?

We both enjoyed relinquishing control for a short while. It would be nice to go home to that every night.

He’s not even our true mate.

So? He doesn’t have to be.

What game are you playing?

No game. I’m a better judge of what’s good for us than a random act of fate.
